I do not have the name, just to expect the announcement tomorrow.

This announcement needs to hurry. I'm going CRAZY!

People on the Alabama forum seem to think Kirby is going to Auburn

I think I would be OK with KS, though I was really holding out hoping it was gonna be BP. I knew Auburn would never go for Petrino. They worry about his image.

This is the part of the hiring process that I fricking hate. Get it over with already!

I wish we had put Bobby Lowder on this committee. He would have brought Bobby home where he belongs

It sounds like PM is saying Gus and JT is saying Smart. Nobody is saying Petrino today. Its frustrating but I like reading our free posts knowing that we are just speculating instead paying for "inside information" that doesnt put us any further ahead of anybody in naming the next coach.

Do we "know" if Petrino was interviewed/called today?

With our history though, the fact they aren't talking about Petrino is a good sign for Petrino.
Posted on 12/4/12 at 1:41 pm to GoCrazyAuburn
Same could be said for anybody that's ever coached football not named Smart or Malzahn.
Posted on 12/4/12 at 1:45 pm to Rig
What are the chances that Smart, Malzahn and Patterson turned us down and Jacobs had to suck it up and hire Petrino?
Posted on 12/4/12 at 1:45 pm to GenesChin
I'd say pretty low. Smart and Malzahn wouldn't turn down near triple their salary and a higher prestige job to stay where they are.

I like where your heads at.

Malzahn may be in the running for the Arkansas job and he may know the dumpster fire that is AU
I know Kirby is worried about NCAA sanctions as well as wanting to come back to Bama was always a desire of his when he left for a HC job. That won't happen now

What NCAA sanctions? There is NOTHING to the Memphis stuff... Danny is just spinning a story. I can tell you this as FACT, not rumor or innuendo.

Never said it had anything to do with Memphis. That story is bullshite. Was hearing that Kirby has always thought that AU pushed the line a little bit with things and that when people got fired they would start opening their mouth and inviting the NCAA into town.
