The O is better because we are playing different WRs.

Stole from StatTiger

During the first 3 games, the three most targeted receivers were Tony Stevens, Marcus Davis and Will Hastings. During the last 3 games it has been Tony Stevens, Ryan Davis and Kyle Davis.

We stopping playing that awful walk-on kicker and senior Marcus Davis to play guys that are making plays and the O got better. Kyle Davis is a match up problem, something we were missing. Ryan Davis is very quick and can make plays.

Hey now. Don't talk shite about Will Hastings. His life matters too.

Dude.....

There's no way changing ONE WR changed the entire offense. One QB or maybe one RB maybe, but not one WR.

Statisticians paint pretty pictures using numbers, poets and authors with words, and artists with all manner of visual aids. The better the results the less we see how they were put together. Not to make light of this guy, but how does crunching tally's from:

Clemson, Arkansas State, and Texas A&M

equate with tally's from:

LSU, Louisiana Monroe, and Mississippi State?

There's two outliers in both sets of three Arky State and La Monroe, but the other two pairings can't truly be compared using some aggregate that lumps everything together. That's like comparing piles of shite as if all turds were the same.

That's stupid... changing those two guys out isn't what made us better, the change to lashlee as the play caller did.

RL is using way more TE/HB looks than Gus was... we've moved away from 4 WR sets to more heavy sets. The combo of pettway in run game with a more physical approach has made all the difference... not switching out a couple wide outs.

I think he's off the list. Gus is on the fence and JJ is a "fire?"

We need some kind of big board or something.

I'd like to see NCM and Eli Stove get some more run out there as well. I also really like Slayton, but damn that dude has to get better at blocking.

Generally speaking, you can still draw meaningful stats from the difference in competition. W/ Lashlee as a playcaller you can look for simple stuff like run-pass mix, Avg yardage passes travel in the air, positions on the field most targeted for receptions, etc. to see that he has really mixed up the offense.

And a smart guy could likely do even more.

However this would indicate O was better because of a change in game plan and different WR's would be more anecdotal.... as long as everyone caught the ball. Just seemed a bold statement to make.

Disagree. Playing those guys means they have earned the snaps. KD and Ryan are making plays. Match are an issue with those guys. KD is too big for a corner to cover one on onem and RD is too quick for a lb to cover on the slot. Matchups are how the game is played at the next level.

But play calling has also gotten better. We are throwing the ball down the field now instead of screens. We threw a slant last game, I almost fainted.

I would love to know what the hell happened with Gus' play calling. It is like he got the yips along with Johnson. As much shot as I've given Rhett (deservedly so). He has done well these last 3 games.

Loved reading through all this. My favorite part is Stovall going after the offside player who cheapshotted Carlson

I thought it was great, especially to see Lashlee is finally mixing it up on downs and formations. We were so predictable for a long time, that a simple change like that has really opened up the offense.

I think a lot of it has to do with White becoming more comfortable and just getting more experience. He was thrown into the fire in the middle of the season last year as a RFr. Having that behind him and now in his second year taking snaps, he's getting that experience that really helps any QB in this league. You can tell how confident he is with his throws now.

It seems to be that the team is improving all the way around from proper play calling on offense. White is getting more comfortable in his role because it is playing to his strengths. If he gets the long ball worked out they should be able to hang with any team out there. I also think moving Golson back to center with James coming in has done a lot to help shore up the O line. This team is scrappy and they are progressing nicely. I hope it continues so we can put a signature win up against real SEC talent.

I liked the Ladarius James pancake.

Marlon Davidson is a beast.
