I would be happy as hell with any of those three.

Question for everyone;;;;

If Jacobs recommends we get rid of Chizik, will your opinion of him increase?

This is what the PTB are banking on. He can then say that he will always do what is right for Auburn.

That will only last until we have a quality hire. I have no idea if that is possible, but some folks believe that JJ will be able to bring in a good name.

Only if he hires a homerun.

No. That arse clown is why we are about to pay Chizik $7.5. Plus he promoted that creepy d-bag Tim Jackson to a position of prominence.

If he fired Chizik and hired one of Patterson,
Fisher, or Petrino (don't see him doing this) it would help him.

The heat would be too high on him, if he hired another no name (and he shouldn't be allowed to make the final call on his own).

Folks, let's put this in perspective, it was stated in our coaching thread 9 days ago when I said JJ would be retained, many doubted...

I was WRONG about when Chizik firing would be announced, but I still believe he will be. Of course, my information maybe wrong because you have powerful people involved. I will say it comes from a very high and reputable source. I also know that the mood of the assistants (not 100% sure about Chizik) changed from Sunday to Monday.

3 days ago PM said that JJ would make the recommendation at the end of the season.

Today it is in AL.com and everyone goes crazy.

Got some info... (these things are always fluid, but believe this to be solid)

When we lose to UGA, the announcement will be made on Monday that Chizik is stepping down...

JJ is being retained for now for spin control purposes. The President does not want to have too much change at one time.

Others will be involved in the coaching search, but 100% TJ will not be one of them.

Said Jimbo would be interested, but you never know if he would take it.

Said Jay would not be a detriment to hiring a quality coach.

Also said that it now appears that Jay will make a recommendation to Gogue about Chizik's, but that Gogue will have the final word.

If Jay recommends that Chizik keep his job, he's gone too. This is nothing more than political posturing.

Chizik is gone. End of story.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There is absolutely no way Jacobs fires Chizik. Their families are too intertwined. Hell, Jonna Chizik is facebook friends with like eight of Jacobs' family, including his wife, daughters and even Jay Jacobs' mother. They're either both staying or both going. Jacobs will not fire Chizik.

I have two questions:

1. Is there a BOT meeting tommorow at 11:00 am?

2. Does anyone know if Gouge and Jacobs are suppose to be there?

There is a BOT meeting, Dr Gogue will be there. JJ will be there, but only to discuss the baseball improvement.

Do NOT expect anything to come from the meeting. The BOT is leaving this up to Dr G., but they are letting Dr. G. Know what their feelings. The BOT will not micro manage.

Is it possible that Jacob's could make a recommendation to Gouge and the BOT tommorow to bring Chizik back?

You can absolutely bet on it. No way we improve if Chiz stays.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with a little meltdown?!? It's these types of reactions that actually get people motivated to do soemthing. If we were all just a little unhappy with things you can bet JJ wouldn't be feeling nearly as much pressure as he is today.

Sure, you can argue that a handful of fans on secrant won't make a difference, but, A LOT of people feel this way. The people that do make decisions are not willing to accept a season of empty seats in Jordan Hare.

To answer a couple of questions,

baseball is new locker rooms, etc.

Jay will not formally make a recommendation, but there is an executive session where this could be discussed. Jay however is not part of that.

The rest of the BOT meeting has a set agenda and is open to the public. Wish I could go.

I still think that Chizik is gone. An executive search firm (run by a former Basketball player) has started the process. Family and all....

With this crew nothing will surprise me. They have and may be sending out false information.

Jacobs May likes Chizik, but Jay is a puppet. I do not think he has the courage to keep Chizik.
