The difference is at USC and Maryland he wouldn't have to deal with the Co-DC title....he would have two strong defensive minded HCs to bring him along ala Saban and Smart.
If I was TRob and they told me I'd have to share title with someone like Lolley I would have told them to go frick themselves too.

Lets be honest he won't be coordinating the D at SC. He will be like Rhett. I imagine we have some of the same problems in our AD as we did when Chiz was here. Based on what went down with the baseball coach, we probably have all kinds of JJ minions in operations spying on coaches and shite.

I have been told that we may be losing two more coaches off of the d staff. Doesn't really matter if you are not going to hire from within. The new guy can bring his own people. The only reason that Thompson might stay is to become vested in the state retirement system. He only likes a year or two in becoming vested.
Gus might have to settle. Would he offer and would Thompson take the DC job under the circumstances. This may be what happens. Thompson has been a DC before.

For sure. Can't blame him. This goes one of two ways:
1. We make a competent DC hire. Next season goes well and we continue to build.
2. We make a terrible DC hire, Gus is gone after next season and the only thing we have to look forward to in the interim is a new AD. And basketball.

Wasn't even 30 seconds after I woke up that I saw this on my phone from 247. Great fricking way to start the day. I don't even care at this point. Nobody will EVER be 'in control' at Auburn. Heads need to roll immediately, 2nd amendment style.

The new DC should have the power to build his own staff. If he wants Thompson gone, then so be it.

frick Muschamp. I'm not mad about him leaving for another job, but it's pretty shitty to try and hire away coaches from AU and take away all semblance of continuity.

I don't blame the guy for doing what he feels is in his best interest. We knew everything that has happened was a possibility when we took him.
