It's more than just him being a dick. He's an irrational hot head. Few examples:
- After a Friday night loss he's known to rip into individual players in front of the team for 2 or 3 hours until he's killed anything positive in them.
-At a hotel on a road trip a parent was complaining about Golloway ripping into his child and Galloway's daughter heard him and started crying and ran upstairs to his room. Golloway comes down and loses his mind on the parent for making his daughter cry. When they get back from the trip they hold a team meeting where Golloway gets everyone in a circle and says let's get everything off our chest about the team. Well people start saying how they feel and Golloway goes nuts over it. He then turns and looks at the kid whose parent he berated at the hotel and confronts him about how his dad was talking crap and goes off on the kid for telling him all of the drama happening in the locker room..and he won't let it go.
He takes everything personally. He can't control a temper. Whether we keep him or not I don't really care. But these are two of the myriad of complaints I've heard regarding how he treats the program and the players

Auburn, UT, & UK are the bottom three teams when it comes to baseball in the SEC.

Then how does he always recruit well? Not taking up for the man, but baseball parents are the worst. If their kids don't play, shite gets real. And if these kids won't produce, there is no reason to keep them aroun with our limitations.
ETA:
Point being, I put little stock in disgruntled ex players and their parents. His results speak more to me.

Name a team in the SEC that is behind AU in baseball. I'll wait

The standard in college baseball is making the CWS. Not beating directional schools.

And outside of LSU, the SEC is average at best in baseball. USC and Vandy have been good lately, but the rest of the league is meh, and we are at the bottom of it.

Do you not follow the CWS? I have watched every one since the early 90s. Guess how many times we have been?

You're ridiculous. You can have a solid program without making the World Series consistently.
I don't care that you've watched them. But congratulations that's such an accomplishment.
We went 1994 and 1997 since you're desperate for me to play along. But to judge program's overall worth solely based upon making the world series is idiotic. Good day.

No, your baseline for a successful program is wrong. Making the CWS is what defines college baseball. It always has been. Outside of UK, we have no leg to stand on with other programs. UT has made the CWS twice since our last appearance.
ETA:
And back on topic; so what if he tells some players who don't produce to go kick sand. They are adults. They are no good to AU if they are just taking up a spot.

There is a difference between being a demanding & tough coach that holds players accountable and being a "bully"
You can respect the first one but you'll never respect the second. Not to mention that it is still a "game" and they are "student athletes" not professionals no matter how much we pay them.

You might be right, but until we hear from other sources than butthurt players and parents, all I can do is look at what he produces. I need facts before I form an opinion, not interwebz hear say.

Got a buddy who works regularly with baseball for the AD. I haven't talked to him past couple days though and don't know if his feelings have changed on SG
My friend's feelings were sort of indifferent. I would describe it as "He is tolerable if he wins but you can't act this way if you are a loser." He projects an absurd level of arrogance, why he never took responsibility for failures during the season. When it came with dealing with AD officials/staff, the world revolved around Sunny and they should be on his beck and call.
On the topic of crossing the line, my friend would never divulge anything, but reading between the lines it is believable that Sunny crossed the line. If it was football, he would be the coach who would do the "Bull in the Ring" drill for a dopped pass all practice.

TL;DR of my above post
People around the AD have observed some potential red flags about character for a major D1 baseball coach before this issue happened. "Source" was indifferent/no axe to grind with Sunny though and wouldn't have minded if we held on given he won.

This whole thing is such bullshite until someone can prove he has done something to legitimately be fired. Being tough on kids on the team is not a damn reason. Coaches are assholes. They have to be. The baseball program is headed in the right direction. Get over it and grow some balls.

There is a difference between accountability/being a tough coach and what Sunny is rumored to have done.
Everyone talks about Nick Saban and Bill Belichick being hard on players. Their current/former players don't talk about them like Sunny's players talk about him. That includes Sunny's former Oklahoma players too

I would rather shut down the program then continue to have it lead by sonny.
On the surface it looks a lot like butthurt former players and parents bitching about a coach. The more you hear about the kind of person golloway is the less I can stand him as a human being let alone the head coach for my Auburn Tigers.
