Tony Franklin did it too. If you will recall he introduced the crouching meerkat to Auburn. It seems to be a feature of many spread coaches. I don't think this is unique to Gus at all and I'm not outraged by it.

Personally I want to see us go back to the west coast offense. I prefer a Jimbo Fisher or Al Borges offense. I can guarantee you that Fisher's QBs can audible and are trained to read defenses. Fisher's QBs are much more NFL ready which is a huge recruiting bonus. Petrino is another top tier coach in that regard.

I ask if Stdham is even allowed to pull a handoff and run around the end, or is that dictated from the sideline too? There are plays out of the million handoffs up the middle even Stidham could jog for a 7 yard gain and we never do it. It baffles me. The whole point of options is to keep the defense off balance, and We are so predictable I could imagine the opposing coaches tell their defense not to even worry about it, Gus is that stupid. We actually ran an RPO to throw a Hail Mary once under Gus, that is how stupid he is.

And, do you think we even practice a qb under center and keeper to gain a half a yard? It prob has about the same success rate as an extra point. My money is on we couldn't run it because we never practiced it.

Nearly every college offense does it at this point. This isn't a "Gus" thing

As I said above, you theoretically should trust an OC to read the defense more than a 18-22 year old kid

Well no shite.

But it's not too much to ask that, hey if you see a safety come up in the box here, then why not automatically check to a quick slant or something.

Thats what I'm talking about.

This is a dumb story. No QB under Gus has ever had this power. Most collegiate QBs don't have this power. The few that do have a limited number of plays they can check to based off the formation

There is so much better shite to criticize Gus on than this...

Normally that's when they look to the sideline and coach changes the play

I get what you're saying but w play cards it isn't more efficient for a QB > Coach

The problem is our lack of hot route options, not that they aren't getting called
