if gus picks JJ, it will be a huge, gutsy career move, because if it implodes, Gus's arse is gone.

I agree. If he does pick JJ, then the only comfort you can take is that he must have been killing it in practice/film room because that's a huge gamble to take with the job on the line.

Not sure this only applies to picking JJ.

Gus is under the gun regardless who is behind center. He knows he has to truly pick whichever QB has the best chance to win regardless how popular that decision is with fans.

I get what your saying. I just meant that if JJ starts, it will be because he earned it and was heads and shoulders over the rest. On the other hand , Sean or JFIII could start even if all three performed about the same in camp.

So, say he comes out playing as good as we thought he would be before last season. Granted we all know how bad he can be now, but if he does play up to potential, how does your perspective of the season change?
JJ started against atm, uga and bama....Sean got the nod in the bowl game.

Sean is our starting Qb this year and quite possible the next two years barring injury

white was a freshman making his first starts so it's understandable he'd have less of a grasp on the offense than JJ

This is my thoughts as well. Yes SW did not finish off drives or throw for as many touchdowns as we would have liked to see. But in 5 straight games that he started healthy, he averaged 212 yards/game (108 yards off 10 attempts against San Jose St. Kills that average and is another example of the coaches not giving SW a chance), including 3 straight games of 250 yards and only 2 ints in 5 games.

And those stats still don't tell the story based on what I saw. I thought SW was a baller. He had big runs against Miss St., a huge final drive to send us to OT against Arkansas, and consistently hung in the pocket and delivered passes as he got hit.

For arguments sake let's assume that White stays healthy and doesn't get injured, does anybody think that he has hit his peak potential as a redshirt freshman and 5 healthy games? I'm excited at what he can be this year and going forward, and definitely think he is our best option at the moment.

Dude.... I posted a "frick your own face" gif at the mere thought of JJ starting. How do I not rate team SW?

You gotta start pulling more weight old man. This bandwagon is about to get heavy

If JJ is the starter its just going to throw our offense backwards.

Ahhhh...... I remember the good old days when we rolled from Stan White to Pat Nix to D Craig. There was a time you could count on Auburn for solid QB play, a great run game, and quality SEC defense every game. Maybe you young ones will see that some time.

hey look, its the pic SW painted with his balls. I thought that was at Trent Dilfer's house. I'm team SW simply for his artistic balls.

JJ has all the tools in the world to be successful but for whatever reason he just can't put it all together.

I still stand by what I thought last season. His problem is between the ears and if he can get out of his own head he'd do well.

We'll see.

I would like to point out that Sean is the first Auburn QB to accomplish this since Dameyune Craig. And the only other freshman QB in Auburn history to have more than one 250 yard game was Sean's father, Stan.

I am sold.

What the Hell.

I need something to be optimistic about.

Speaking of selling, do you think if we work together collectively, as a "family" if you will, that we can convince tRant that Sean White is Stan White's son?
