The first half of the 2007 season is probably the last time we've seen a real Auburn Defense.

Might have been processed. Or he was just done playing. His playing time was about to take a nose dive anyways.

I was there too. I remember losing my mind then thinking "Did I just watch someone die?"

I heard you on the OD this morning. Solid call

I could have sworn I remember reading that Fisher was working with some coach or something at the NFL combine. Something about training as a talent evaluator or something.

Not sure if that meant he was done playing or what.

Trent Fisher was at the NFL Combine working as an intern for ESPN IIRC. He's probably given up football to start his future career.

How long has it been, 2004? I can't remember it's been so long.

Tubs defenses were stout all the way through 2008. Our D almost won a few more games for us that year. The only bright spot we've had on D since then was the run D in 2010. Outside of that, it's been pretty poor, with the exception of some improvement last year. Hopefully this year is the year we turn that corner.

Remember the game but couldn't remember the year. I think everyone was speechless. The most violent hit to the head I've ever seen. Helmet to helmet is a good rule.

I went back to refresh my memory a little bit. 2008 and the glorious 3-2 win was the year I was throwing shite against the wall wanting the son of a bitch fired and the defense has driven me crazy ever since.

Watching the Johnson/Malzahn HUNH® defense evolve, with this talent, is going to be exciting.

Just a thought not to be discussed:

Since the A-day game is going to be televised on ESPN, I hope Pearl will be interviewed on the sidelines at halftime with lots of BB recruits in the stands.

BB recruits being in the stands in Pearl's presence would be a recruiting violation so I'd hope that doesn't happen

You mean if there is a high school BB player in the stands who chooses to come to the game, Pearl is not permitted to attend?

I don't mean him inviting the recruits necessarily, just them choosing to attend the game.

Since Pearl is a former employee of ESPN it seems like it would be an appropriate thing for ESPN to do.
