I thought I posted this earlier but the problems at SS stem from Yak who is worthless in the field and DH who is a true 2nd baseman and didn't play SS til halfway through this year. The problems at 3rd base are mainly having BA play there and DT playing 1st. BA has had a bad year all round and hasn't played any position beside catcher since high school.
One thing I agree with CSG in the before the first game press conference is that we lack middle infielder and left handed pitcher depth. Hopefully if we get better at both of those spots we don't see Wade going and pitching yesterday because we put in a lefty against ole miss' left handed dominate line up. And we don't have to move JE in from the outfield when Yak goes down.
We need a lot of work as a team. Long story short.

Don't forget Connor Short in that analysis. He's made 5 errors at 3rd.

Fair enough but he is a true freshman who hasn't gotten to be an everyday 3rd baseman or even the primary backup..

He can't field anything. I watched Auburn during the recent series with Missouri and was astonished at how bad AU baseball has fallen. This has happened over several years and it's to take some time to build it back. I was not impressed. Auburn is not a good team or program right now.

Im just gonna call this season growing pains. I still think we make a regional unless our mid season collapse continues. I would consider that a successful year. If we get hot again like we did the last 2 weeks prior to SEC play and the first 2 weeks of SEC play we have the talent to make a super regional.
All that being said, if we can get a big crowd at home games the team feeds off of that energy. Also if you go to A-Day your ticket gets you into the baseball game against South Carolina who in my opinion is the best team in the country right now. Would be huge perception wise for us to win that day.
