As a D.O. and board certified anesthesiologist, I can say that the training is essentially the same in the first 2 years of book work with the exception of some additional training in manual manipulation. The third and 4th year rotations are more preceptor based (ie you shadow a physician) one on one, versus traditional medical schools which are primarily hospital based working with residents and attending physicians. Pro's and cons to each, but basically you get what you put into either. Out of the 50 members of our group, about 10 are D.O.'s. The thing to keep in mind is that all DO's or MD's must pass the same Specialty certification to be boarded in that specialty.

Sorry for the long post.

I'm pumped about the new medical school -- its all good.
The other great thing is that I am back in Auburn part-time. Quality of life index is going up!

And didn't the pharm school get a major overhaul in the last 5-10 years? And if nursing and pharm move out to Donahue and Lem Morrison, what happens to the existing buildings they use on Thatch?

Did Moe's BBQ move or rework the outdoor seating area in the back? I just saw a shot from their Instagram with a full-fledged outdoor terrace which wasn't there a couple years ago...

a few months from starting my resident and finally finishing my MD.. Many of my colleagues are DO's and I can't tell any difference. If anything they are just as good of doctors and not as much of pricks haha.

It's been sbout the same both years we've reserved the spot. I assume we're going to move across the street and take over the free lot. As for building a new pharmacy/pharmacy school, I know it's definitely going to be nursing. I thought the same thing bc the Pharmacy school isn't old at all. The only thing I can think is they want a bigger school away from the rest of the university. It's technically separate from AU. They have their own dealings/policies over there. They have their own graduation ceremony.
