Gus brought in Herb Hand and he will probably have a greater role in the offense similar to what he and Malzahn did at Tulsa. I guess one could think that this alone would create an even greater backseat for Craig. The emergence of Hand will also relegate Lashlee into a lesser role also. I think that Gus is putting his eggs into Herb Hand's basket hoping his influence can fix the problem. This is what Craig may be seeing or thinking.

Craig is a great recruiter, below average WR coach. Good luck to him. Trooper's group seemed to progress better, tho.

He hates Auburn anyways. That's why he's leaving.

I don't think so. DC doesn't hate Auburn.

That's what we were told before he came here. Must be true.

Not surprised. Gus rather have his "yes men" like Lashlee and Hand.

Per AUC Gus is prepared for Craig to leave and already has a replacement in mind.

Probably Kodi Burns

Could you blame him? Gus is on the hotseat. He can go somewhere for a raise this year and then get a raise to come back next year after a new staff is hired and still coach his recruits.

At worst for him the new staff doesn't offer him a job and he stays there employed.

A lateral move to an SEC rival tells me all I need to know about the state of the football program. #melt

We just signed the best WR class in years and now Craig might leave? NCM amongst others would have to be PISSED.

Well if Gus is gone this year, they better fork over the money for a proven HC this time. While they are at it they might as well put JJ on the same plane as Gus.

I agree with you regarding Lashlee but Malzahn really trusts Hand. Malzahn is going to depend on him a lot this year I think. He and Hand really worked well together at Tulsa and they were successful there. I am glad that we got Hand and I wish that we would let Lashlee go and keep DC for recruiting purposes but it looks like Malzahn has made his choice. He will have to live with it.

I don't give a frick if DC leaves, name a WR he really developed. He did a good job recruiting this year I guess? It should not have been a hard sell to get top WR talent due to availability to come in and play day 1. Look at the shitty WRs we have on the roster. We all know Duke was an idiot but a decent coach would have gotten something out of him. Instead we got everything is Gucci.
