Been feeling bad the last week heart feels like it's coming out of my chest. Went to my cardiologist and he put me on a higher dose of anxiety meds and a heart monitor for 24 hours on Thursday. Went back Friday morning and they said it was normal and did a chest CT to check for clots that was negative also. I can't get out of a chair and walk twenty steps and my heart rate is over 140.

Heart problems are nothing to take lightly. Get to the best cardiologist you can find and get an opinion. Don't be scared to get a second opinion either. Eat better. Exercise. Quit smoking if you do.

Lost my dad this past year to congestive heart failure.

Anxiety sucks. Glad that the tests came back negative on blockage and hope the new meds work better for you.

I thought panic attacks right before football season was just part of being an AU fan. I suffered from severe anxiety attacks for a while. sounded just like what you described. I went to the Dr. twice positive I had a heart condition. breathing exercises helped and once I realized I could control them it was mind over matter. I hope thats all it is and nothing more serious.

Praying for you!!!

And on a lighter note, with what all you have going on health wise, being an Auburn fan may not be the best decision.

War, i had a severe bout of high BP/ anxiety that had me to where i couldn't hardly get out of a chair, turned out to be sleep apnea and no i wasnt sleepy all the time. The condition can cause a multitude of different symptoms.

So are they saying this is all anxiety?

I've posted about it on the OT but I've just recently started having health related anxiety issues as well.

As someone who went through the first 33 years of life pretty carefree and worry free this has hit me like a ton of bricks. I thought I was past it after having a couple of really good weeks but then it hit me again out of nowhere last night and into this morning.

God bless you 2004. Definitely keep an open line of communication with the Doc. And as someone else mentioned, if you're not already, exercising, eating right and not smoking are huge for the heart. Also, dental hygiene plays a massive role in clogged arteries so keep flossin! Heart disease runs in my family so even though i'm only 32 I keep a tight leash on all of that stuff.

Above all, just try to keep a positive mindset and (if it's your thing) pray early and often. Prayers with you man.
