NM did had some terrible passes in the game

He probably had more that went against him: Coates steps out of bounds on a TD, Coates gives up on a ball that should have been a TD, Coates drops one in the endzone late, Bray drops a deep one.

Seems like a trend of don't throw the ball to Sammy or Retardo

Sammie's lack of trying is perplexing.

Duke has made more diving catches in 6 games than Sammie had in his entire career

Duke is a great WR.
Sammie is a physical specimen playing WR.

Why was the DE's facemask so close to NM to begin with? Oh, missed blocking assignment? Right.

I'm thinking some people believe NM should be able to make the defenders right in his face turn to fricking mist.

I'm convinced we would be more productive moving sammie inside. I wouldnt throw another vertical route his direction.

Both those guys had some frick ups that cost us yesterday. Williams fumble on the second series lead to a MSU touchdown to go up 14-0 in Q1.

Sammie had the OOB step in the end zone that cost us a TD.

So a 14 point swing off those two guys.

How many came from Slade's defender? At least 2, I can't remember the 3rd.

The longer the pass, the shorter Sammie's arms get. He looks like a freaking T-rex. I would love to see him lay out for the ball but that ain't happening. He's good for the jump ball in the endzone, but the long ball isn't his cup of tea.

Sammie = Jake Holland. Everyone knew Jake was over his head. Sammie was supposed to be a 1000yd receiver this year.

I believe one was a DE off the right edge.

Chad Slade = Jake Holland. Slade isn't athletic enough to be a starter in the SEC at RG. Similar to JH

Sammie just seems to quit. Isn't athletic ability

Crap, meant to put =/= not =. I thought someone compared sammie to holland, not slade. Reading comp error on my part. Posting before coffee isn't a good thing.

I'm wondering if Sammie's leg injury is holding him back from laying out on vertical passes?

I've definitely noticed the trend too.

Its not. People keep complaining about him not diving, yet they are missing the core problem: most of the time if he doesn't hesitate/slow-up, he wouldn't even need to dive. I'm starting to really believe that he has a serious problem with tracking/reading the flight of the ball in the air. The result looks ridiculous: he beats his man easily, then its almost as if he gives up in the last 5 yards as the ball is approaching and it just falls in front of him while he's holding his arms out. If you notice, he rarely has a problem catching the ball when he's not in full motion...ie: jump-ball scenarios and the like where he has time to set himself. When he's asked to go after a ball that is thrown in front of him (ie: any deep-pass)it seems that he doesn't have that natural ability to track the ball and run underneath it. If you watch the elite deep-threats in the game, it looks so easy because they have a natural ability to track the ball and regulate their speed/path at the same time.
