Is Boom running off players?
Possibly but to this point they are players that don't fit the scheme & likely wouldn't play anyway barring injury

is there reason for major concern
No more than there already is. Our secondary will be an obstacle this season & that was always going to be the case but these moves don't play a factor. Going from zone style DBs & schemes like we had, especially CBs, to man DB system & DBs is not an easy nor usually a quick next year transition

is he thining out the herd?
highly likely IMO

Is this all that terrifying?
no

Aren't most of our secondary depth concerns at CB?
depth concerns are @ both CB & safety.

This is the point where we are suppose to say that our new coach is cleaning house. Not taking any shite. Getting rid of the trouble makers

Isn't it?

I don't mind WM running off players with the wrong attitude but I don't want him running anyone off because they don't fit, if we have room for them. We need all the depth and talent on D we can get. Plus WM may not be around long and if he runs off talent that can help the next DC's style then it's not going to help anything.

He didn't stand out to me in any way last season. Meh.

Unless you have a personal interest in this, I don't see any reason for consternation.

He was underwhelming (to say the least) considering he was the #1 JUCO SS.

Everyone was underwhelming on defense last year.

Damnit other than Duke he was my favorite JUCO signee since Cam. I was really hoping he could contribute at LB... But I guess with his age and just starting out at LB, the logjam we have of backups at the position might look like too much for him.

He's just not physical enough to be a LB. He's played free safety all his life & never has been or asked to be a physical player.

Idk about that. Seemed like the only thing he could do at safety last season was hit and play the run. Seemed like his problem was his weight had him a step too slow to be any good in coverage. At LB being lined up against TEs and RBs he could be an asset in coverage.

Basically what I am saying is since he went to my alma mater I watched his entire high school career. For all intents & purposes he was a football centerfielder. He never showed much consistent physicality nor was asked to do much 1 on 1 coverage. I just don't think he had or still has the mindset to be physical. Based on what I know on DM I was surprised he was ever moved to LB in the 1st place.

Physicality can be coached. Maybe he wasn't asked to be in HS or JUCO because with his size and athleticism it wasn't necessary.
Unless DM is a complete pussy then an intense coach like Muschamp should be able to bring that out in him. I don't think that's the case though, because he isn't being processed. He wants to transfer of his own free will because he wants to start and he wants to do it at DB.

Yes for some kids but not all. For some it's instinct based on a mind set. For them you got it or you don't. Tim Irvin, for example, is a kid who has it & Boom doesn't have to coach that part in him.

Even Boom can't bring it out if a kid isn't willing or wanting to to the level Boom is looking for

Yes because being at safety where the demands are less physical are what he is used to.

Seems like last year everybody thought Moncrief was going to be a big time baller. Lots of good press in the fall camp. Turned out to be not so much.

I am disappoint.
