We obviously still suck in the redzone. Last year even with NM we sucked in the redzone. To me the problem is Gus either goes vanilla, RB up the gut mode, or tricky mode Jeremy Johnson comes runs a 2yd QB draw. Honestly we would be better going wildcat inside the 10yd line. You get an extra blocker and have to count for the QB run.

Having a running QB won't offset the fact that our head ball coach has a noodle brain and can't scheme an offense around anything else than the read option. This is so played out. If a 4 million dollar coach NEEDS a running QB to score in the redzone then he should frick back off to high school.

i think it sucks that our coach can only be successful with DT quarterbacks (if that's true, it seems that way but I'm not sure we would even be good if we had a DT QB, i mean we did only win 8 games last year with NM). White is a good qb and a good coach should be able to figure out a way to score in the redzone with him

Boils down to play calling and not giving downs away. He has the personnel to be successful. For some reason he goes away from what has been working when he gets inside the 10....even if it's running it up the gut. It.is.baffling.

The major frick up was shuffling QBs like hell early. White never had a chance to get a rhythm in the first quarter. He completed a pass and was off the field next play. We are going to have to pass to open up the run this year and that has been evident since the LSU game.

This is a horrible thought, but can you imagine UGA with Sean White this year? Or UF? Or even Bama (I think he'd be better than Coker personally)?

And Gus looks at SW and thinks... meh.

This 100%

I know this board is full of Petrino haters, but he could have won games with the players we have on offense right now. Instead we have to pray for a little baby jesus juco dual threat to come save us.

FOUR fricking quarterbacks.

In ONE quarter of football.

What sane coach believes this is ever a good idea?

I don't understand why it is hard to accept the O works better with a running QB, all O's do.

It isn't hard to understand. Do you see one anywhere near our roster...Gus couldn't come to terms with that this year so we got an over hyped JJ and no backup plan. When Gus actually realized he was gonna have to play White to avoid a turnover every 3.8 plays he hadn't even considered developing a way to set White up for success. Today's first quarter was tantamount to Gus giving the fan-base a big frick you.

It was easy to see about 5 weeks ago but the Koolaid was good. Anyone who had paid attention to Gus's style over the years could have seen that but everyone bought the "Gus is a magician" and can adapt to any style of QB or offense.

He is very good at one thing. And as long as he is our coach, we should stick to that. There was no need to break what was not broke.

we cannot run the fricking ball consistently

I disagree. fricking ADAPT. You don't have to change everything 100%, but you don't have to do that to ADAPT.

Does what Lane Kiffin runs look *anything* like what Saban demanded of his OC's in the past? No, it does not. Know why he fricking ADAPTED? Because Nick a-hole Saban wants to fricking WIN.
