Just go back and watch the ARky game. Sean White probably had his best game passing. He had played in a few games and look like he was getting the offense. Its a shame our garbage converted QB wideouts couldn't catch shite. He got hurt and was not 100 percent the rest of the year. Malzhan wanted Hand so he could give him control of the run game like at Tulsa. Rhett and Craig will be in charge of passing.

It seems like a rather precarious situation that we'll have 3 QB's, all of which have different strengths. So if we go with JFIII that's okay, but what if he's a disappointment? We can't just plug White in and see how he does. The offense will need to change too. Ditto with JJ.

My point really is that the Auburn board kinda sucks at identifying QB talent. Except Lawson and I. Because we're not white honkies

I supported Marshall as a QB recruit in all those thread
I am not white. Possibly can be considered part of the honkies

For me to feel good about White as our starter 2 things have to happen:

He has to show he can take the punishment from sacks and hits as our QB. His injury never really left him late in the season.

second, he has to show he can throw TDs. Yes his percentage was pretty good passing, and he had some high passing yardage games, but only 1 TD? and it was in OT i think.
He has to show he can stretch the field and have big plays in the passing game, or teams will simply move safties up..because he cant be accurate deep...

ThirdLawson agrees with all of this.

This is pretty much the key for any QB under Gus. If we can keep the safeties back with the deep threat we will be successful, if not we will struggle against teams with good run defenses. Having a legit deep threat is actually far more important for Gus's schemes than having a dual threat QB.

If Tyler Queen is fifth behind JF3 and Barrett then he is a waste of a scholarship.

Jeremy Johnson shouldn't be on scholarship after his complete meltdown last season...

Why is everyone assuming JF3 is even worth a shite as a Qb? He has played all of zero games against SEC level competition and has what, a handful of starts at Qb under his belt? SMH.

Hell, who knows at this point. He was a one read Qb in JUCO, and based on his film, his read was to run.

Okay, I'm in!

First game, Clemson absolutely sucks for us on paper. For them though, and us, no one will have any clue at all as to who starts and who (possibly) may lead this team at QB. It could be anyone of JJ, SW or JF3, or heaven forbid, someone else.

At the moment, on paper, Clemson should win by all accounts, but the posibarner in me keeps looking for reasons why we might win. We could win. Again though, it comes down to Gus - his staff, coaching, discipline, planning, game calling, etc. He has between now and then to get all that figured out. 2016 will clarify many things. I hope for all our sakes he does. WE!

I agree with this. Put White in Bama and he wins a couple championships.

Now let the dual threat vs pro style in Gus offense commence.

This is the concern. Can/will Malzahn bend on his stubbornness to adapt his offense and find ways to run the ball without the zone read?

i am hoping that the offense was just shell shocked last year and will be more prepared for multiple scenarios.

Well he has to be simply due to his TJ surgery.

I know he will not be ready in the spring, and probably not even in the fall, so Why would you put him ahead of Barrett if cant even participate in practice?

So, no he is not a waste of a scholarship......YET..

Well, the coaches have to call the pass play inside the redzone instead of the crap they called this year. How many times did we get into an offensive rhythm and drive the ball to the 10 yd line only to call the most ridiculous plays of the game?

Receivers didn't do White many favors this year. Watch the drops against arKansas.

Why wouldn't he be ready for the fall? According to this article, he'd be ready 16 weeks from the surgery.

Queen is huge. Needs to be a tight end. Otherwise its the second coming of Freddie Kitchens.
