Honestly, I think this is a good idea. I like seeing Auburn folk on our board (as well as any other teams). I know there are many that disagree and I certainly understand where you are coming from. There is something nice about having a sanctuary. I guess I'm looking at this as more of a big picture thing. I want the SEC Rant, and all the team boards, to really grow and I think posting across team boards will encourage that. I want every team board to be THE place to be. No more Tidefans, no more AuburnEagle or whatever... I have been here since the beginning of the SEC rant and love what has happened to the board. I just want that to continue.
Also, Ross (and every other SEC admin) will soon have the power to kick people off of the board. If there is any trouble, they will get the boot. You can open the doors as slowly or quickly as you want. Those that do not flame and can contribute positively will enhance the discussion and flamers can be sent back to the abyss of the SEC rant posthaste. At any rate, good luck to you with whatever you guys decide and happy football season.

Tuck is one of the three Alabama Admins. The Team Board Admins have access to all the other team boards. Relax

I don't know why the majority of this board joined the rant in the first place, but for me it was to get away from the group think you find in the vast majority of Auburn centric websites. Most of those sites will not tolerate any hint of dissent or negative thoughts about the University or it's athletic programs. I enjoyed the rant and SECr because it was a mix of fans and if you tried to run a line of horseshite about your team, you would be called out on it.
Then came ATPB......absolutely ruining a good thing. The notoriety this site received drew every half assed troll and flamer in the SEC here. Honestly the rant sucked to be on, and I stopped posting for a pretty long time. When the team sites were made, I was ecstatic, finally a sanctuary from the dimwits. But as time wore on, I found I missed mixing it up with other fans, the ones who are fun to shite talk with and don't turn it into a silly flame fest.
That's why I was intrigued by the idea of allowing some rival fans on our team site. What did we have to lose? Ross could ban hammer anyone that got out of line, and it would allow good posters from all teams to swap info/ideas.
The board has spoken, is very strongly against it, and I have no problem going along with the decision. I hope that we can revisit this idea in the future because I believe it would make this an even better place.
