My guess is Thorne.

If it's not Thorne we're in trouble IMO.

I honestly think it'll be Ashford he gives Freeze more to work with with his ability to run. It also depends on how much Freeze likes the OLINE and WRs. If he has a lot of belief in those guys it might be Peyton. I heard Tom Luginbill say on a interview a couple weeks ago that he thinks it will be Ashford

Robby wouldn’t have started even if Thorne didn’t come. Auburn didn’t use up a ton of NIL money to get Thorne here to sit the bench.

Unless Ashford has learned how to throw a ball three yards to a wide open back, he might as well try out for slot receiver. And this "package for Ashford" has got to stop. If the guy was a threat to complete a pass, we wouldn't have signed Thorne. If he comes into a game for a play, there's about as much mystery there as a Malzahn wildcat formation, and we don't have the line to be calling our hand.

Tell me how many Auburn QBs in its entire history have thrown for 300+ against LSU? The Ashford can’t throw bs is dumb.

I’d say Thorne is betting favorite but I’d guess Ashford.

QB Room:

Thorne: R-JR 525/861 6,493Yds 49TDS 24 Ints
270 Rushing 6TDS

Ashford: So 123/250 1613Yds 7TDS 7Ints
710 Rushing 7TDS

Geriner: R-Fr 2/3 8yds 0TDS 0 Ints

Brown: Fr No Playing Time

From what Freeze has said, no guarantee on starting was offered to any transfer QB, including Thorne. I’d say Thorne with all that experience. Ashford brings some explosive plays in the running game. I’ll be interested in the reports from fall camp, which starts in a month. Who knows how the other 2 will compete.

Thorne. With Ashford in for “trick” plays. Which I personally hope is few and far between.
