Honestly, Gus' problem, and I truly believe this, is he is on the spectrum. Wouldn't be surprised if he has aspergers.

Combine that with his paranoia and ego and it's one big shite sandwich

the problem with Gus is that he's a high school coach with a high school offense who can't develop QBs worth a shite.

It isn't the offense that is the problem. It is that Gus is trying to run it at a HS level complexity.

Clemson's offense was originally based on Gus' offense. They just upgraded it to the college level

This is a fact.

Started with Chad Morris, and thus the continuation...

Coaches have to evolve.

Gus is stagnant.

He thinks run, quick run, run, quick run, 4 vertical play action, run, run, bubble, run x10, 4 vertical.

No sophisticated route tree to set up double moves. Just bubble left, bubble right, all go.

It is also very predictable by formation .

Gus feels his system will work against anybody when run properly. He will run it without change.

He hasn't realized how everybody now knows what is coming and how to defend it. The chance of success for each play is significantly less in 2017 than in 2009 to 2013

Bubbles are great set up routes to run if they are setting up other things and stretching the defense from the middle of the field

Unfortunately, Gus wants them to be his money makers
