Problem is Gus has gone a bit TOO conservative. Watched the bama LBs and safeties that last possesion and they are leaning forward and taking a step or two forward to stop the run up the middle before it is even snapped.
We are gonna have to hit Coates or someone right across the middle in that 10-15 yard zone and he should be able to run all day.

Hard to be consistent when you can't pass the ball, no matter how good your running game is. The defense can just sell out against the run, and when they do that they are going to stop you eventually.

I don't disagree with going for it the way bama is moving up and down the field. Mason probably would have gotten it, but hindsight is 50/50.
The real problem is bama has sold out to stop us running up the middle now and is not even close to being kept honest.
At first we weren't going up the middle enough, but Gus has not changed it up the whole half. The middle of the field has to be wide open 10-15 yards deep the way Mosely is selling out at the LOS.

Yep, unfortunately Marshall hasn't shown the ability to hit that pass any this year.
