Kansas State's 1st team barely beat their 2nd team during the Spring Game.

This just isn't a very good football team.

They also lost to North Dakota state for the blind in their first game last season and they have lost a ton of talent since then. Including their QB who was most of their offense

We should be way more worried about Miss St and UGA than K-State.

And they needed a game winning FG to knock off 4-8 TCU.

Using one game as a measuring stick seems extremely silly.
No it's not. Obviously they can have some real lows as you pointed out but they also get up for the big teams on their schedule. That's a Bill Snyder trademark. I expect us to be very explosive and I referenced the Baylor game to show they can get up for big games. I hoipe our players are not disrespecting them like some on here are. That could result in a loss.

I guess I'm sort of in a minority.......... going hard-core posi on the D side.

We watched Gus for a while now, got a pretty good feel for the talent on the offensive side and sort of know what to expect. But I get the impression when it comes to the D side of things, most people kind of expect little improvement whereas I am expecting to see the largest improvement. Including ST's.

Based on the things that I've seen, and the things Malzahn has said, I think this is not just a Johnson defense, but a Malzahn/Johnson system that took over the Ted Roof disaster last year. When #5 is your starting MLB you have some serious problems. Everything this defensive unit and staff had to deal with was not a formula for success, it was a formula for survival. Now all of that is behind them. The incoming class is not facing the steep learning curve, plus, coaches can now work with the team through the summer. This is a big advantage for the D. If we're no longer in the lower half of the conference in total defense, there may be very few close games. Imagine how the season would've gone last year if our defense was ranked.... say third in the conference. We win a national championship.

Maybe nothing more than wishful thinking.

I am definitely worried about UGA. They are #2 on my concern-o-meter. The concern-o-meter looks like this for me

1 Bama
2 UGA
3 Ole Miss
4 SCe
5 LSU
6 K State
7 Miss St
8 TAMU
9 Arky.

I can't imagine this group showing disrespect to anyone. Just not their character. We on the other hand, take great pleasure in doing so!

I certainly am not disrespecting them but we are a much better team and that is a fact. When a team goes to the BCS National Championship game and "should have" won the Natty, comes back the next year and loses very little. You have to be confident that you can beat a Big 12 team that lost to a division one team the year before and lost a ton of talent.

Its not disrespecting them. It is confidence that we are a better team right now and we should win the game easily.

Im not going to sit around and poor mouth. We have more talent. We are a much better team and we should win the game. We will have had 3 games to get our legs under us.

Really?

It's not silly to use one game as a measuring stick?

Well then, no way in hell the 2013 Auburn Tigers win the SEC after getting whipped in Baton Rouge.

Hell, that same LSU team got skullfricked by Alabama later that season. Absolutely no way that Auburn will come close to staying with Alabama in the Iron Bowl.

I think people are overestimating Ole Miss. They are a middle of the road team. Aside from LSU last year they haven't done anything to show they are great.

1. Bama
2. USCe
3. UGA
4. MSU
5. LSU
6. K State
7. Ole Miss
8. TAMU
9. Arky

I am not concerned about any team. I expect our team to win every game. Feeling that isn't being disrespectful, but showing confidence in our teams ability. I've noticed I can be overly confident and life is the same whether we win or lose.

Our team has the talent and leadership to win every game and no win is a given. There are some that we should dominate however.

If we're gonna use one game, OU/KSU is a better measuring stick IMO... Their offense is more similar than BU... 41/31 sooners. Ran all day on them.

Not worried about K-State, but a lot of y'all seem way more confident about the LSU game than I am.

They are always dangerous, but they have a new QB (Lucky for him an experienced OL). They have an inexperienced DL. It is at JH and Nick is in charge. Hope that helps.
