Word is Malzahn could potentially be looking at moving pieces around on his offensive staff, specifically when it comes to who handles the quarterbacks. The quarterback situation has been a mess at times over the last two seasons with the failure of Jeremy Johnson to live up to tremendous hype and Sean White succumbing to four major injuries. Meanwhile, John Franklin III never quite developed into a passing threat as the Tigers had hoped and it showed in the second half of the Allstate Sugar Bowl just how inept the offense looks without a capable quarterback like White (when healthy) on the field.

There has been a tug of war of sorts with play calling throughout the season, and though the issues could not have been made better by either Malzahn or Rhett Lashlee solely handling the play calls, it was obvious Malzahn was more hands on near the end of the season per sources.

What does this mean for Lashlee? He could see a new role on the staff in 2016, according to chatter around the program, and it's entirely possible the addition of a 10th assistant coach from the NCAA could make it possible for everyone to stay on staff — but not without some role changes.

Just as Malzahn did with the defense the last two seasons, he knows changes may need to be made on offense, especially as he faces criticism about quarterback development and the lack of depth at the position the last two seasons. — Brandon Marcello

I am tired of him talking about it. Make a damn decision and either give up play calling, or take it on 100%. Nobody likes to work for indecisive leaders.

I do not believe any of this shite anymore. After being feed the same fricking lines over and over and nothing changes I have given up. Nothing is going to change with the QB's, play calling, preparation or anything else associated with the football team until the current group of fricking clowns are gone.

Malzahn loves to tell us what we want to hear. He is full of shite.

His dumbass should have actually done this a year ago.

I'll save my fapping until it actually happens. I'm sure Gus adding another High school coach will fix everything. Why would the NCAA allow a 10th assistant? That part makes the while thing seen like BS.

Gus needs to learn to self scout, nothing will change until that happens. Dude got crubstomped in the coaching dept by Stoops. One month to prepare and we saw the same crap. Delayed blitz destroyed our offense because we do not have the ability to adjust our protections.

They are already considering doing this. Decent likelihood it is going to happen at this point, but they may change their mind

Hell fire, Bama basically has 18 coaches when you count the "analysts" on the field

I think the NCAA will close this loophole and Saban will move to exploiting the next one.

Then why does Rhett have a job ?

Analysts aren't allowed on the field. You have a set number of coaches allowed on the field.

This is different than Sark. He was brought in and promoted, Rhett is riding coat tails and being demoted if any if this shite is true. These "coaches" are so fricking rich.

Nothing will change as long as Gus is at Auburn. He said he handed the playcalling duties to Rhett, then when Amen corner came around, he took back over. The bowl game was completely on Gus. He called every play.

If Gus wont let Rhett be the OC, then Rhett needs to go.

Probably did. Only issue is come game day, Gus doenst know how to inspire his players nor put them in the best situations to succeed.

Just got internet back after a move, if you have discussed this, I apologize.

There is one drive, usually in qtr 1, where we look like world-beaters, then the rest usually looks like random play calls.

Motherfricking this. Figure out what everybody's role is going to be on the staff and get the damn job done. I understand adjusting to new issues as they arise, but Gus has been juggling who is calling plays and who gets input into playcalls for too damn long. One week we're hearing that he's learned that he needs to be more hands off to let the coaches he hired do the jobs he hired them to do then the next we hear that he wants to be more hands-on to really put his stamp on the team. It's a freaking circus.

With the RB's Au has,the good strong core of young WR's, and Stidham coming in as QB, I would love to see AU go back to the West Coast O that they ran in Tubbs day when they had Jason Campbell, Ronnie Brown, and Cadillac.

its the only drive the Gus really gets creative and is 100% confident in his play calling. He mixes it up, keeps the defense off balance and is very aggressive.

After that, if the other team scores, he folds like a cheap tent
