Supposedly JGT is saying it’s possible Charles Kelly is promoted to full DC and someone like Christian Robinson is hired as a LB coach. Absolute worst case scenario.

Jesus

Not totally horrible but optics look shite

Where does that put Aldridge? Doesn’t seem likely at all.

Well it definitely seems like we’re taking a bit.

The question remains whether or not we’ll get it right.

I doubt that with our checkbook.

then why don't we have one yet? Not everybody is enamored with Auburn like ourselves. Kelly being "co-DC" may be a problem for some. Some guys want total control of their side of the ball. There is absolutely a reason we don't have a DC yet. Whatever that is is an unknown.

I imagine "the checkbook" is getting a little tired of writing checks, as well. We're not just paying for fired coaches and current coaches. Now we're paying real money for every recruiting win or current player not in the portal. Throw in a head coach that did a bit of bashing his coordinators this last year while he was "busy recruiting" and the price tag might be making the money men wince.

In other news they released contract details for Nix and Kelly….and Nix left Auburn for a $100k raise . He was set to make $700k next season at Ole Miss and will make $800k at Auburn.

I am trying to remember which Ole Miss dumbass keeps repeating how we had to offer Nix a massive salary to get him away from Ole Miss

Either inside backers coach or outside backers coach with the Edge players as well. Robinson would take the other position group of backers.

Having a deep DL is more important to me than the DC. If you can’t win the line of scrimmage you can’t win games. But will say it is strange it’s taking this long. I would rather get it right then get it fast.

On the bright side of things, I guess if you’re looking for a DC, now is the best time to be doing so. I’m sure certain coaches want to see how things shake out in the NFL carousel also

Who is saying Christian Robinson would be brought back as the LB coach if they go this way? I don't believe that for a moment.

All I know is this is getting ridiculous with the wait.

Everyone should list what their preferred wait is, followed by their age. That would be a funny experiment.

I personally can wait as long as it’s for a good hire.

Let’s see how this plays out, hopefully it’s not me cursing Hugh.

I draw a hard line at the start of spring practice unless we don’t have one by then.

Then I’ll come up with some excuse why it’s ok.

Same. I'm just starting to get "Harsin hiring his potato posse after striking out on better options" vibes the longer this drags out.

If freaking Kelly winds up as our DC that will be extremely disappointing.
