Hey, if you are doing a temporary thing cause of remodeling, what the hell. Why get into a 2 year contract. And did they have cable in Auburn in he 70's? They didnt when I was in Auburn in the early 80's.

Because you can get a really cool & good high quality streaming device like the Roku 3 for only $100. It has nearly every tv & media app you can think of. All live ESPN content is available. As long as you have a descent net connection the picture quality is great as long as your HDTV aint a POS.

Only if you are a subscriber. If you get SlingTV, you are a "subscriber" to ESPN for $20 base + $5 sports package. You also get 50% off a ROKU 3

Charter is month to month and no contract now

The 1 thing you won't get w/ sling tv is live AU games on CBS. Probably not on a streaming device either all though I'm researching it now.

--------------
My roommate ran a cable from something the people next door had and we used it for our TV. Of course, I didn't watch much TV when I was in school. Im pretty sure it was cable as it existed then -- who knows -- alchohol fog back then.

When I was internet only in AU, I did not have access to live ESPN through my charter account. Granted, if you know someone then you don't need it. Nice thing about Sling TV is that you could pay the 25$ only during the season
Alternative for CBS is getting a HD antenna that is rated for 50-75 miles for Columbus. They work great honestly and I use it for my tailgate instead of my skew satellite feed

In the end. If he wants local channels get the antenna. Also he can get sling tv for a month @ $20 & get $50 off on any main streaming device or any stick for free. If he ends up not weanting sling tv after a mon he still saves $150$30 if he just bought a streaming device alone. Either way. Any of those things is much cheaper than getting cable or satellite.

The move to digital cable virtually eliminated cable theft.

Only reason I can't cut the cord completely is the ball and chain refuses to go without the Entertainment Channel E!. I thought it was an effing joke at first $500/yr

Permission to hijack???
I live in Auburn and the only internet available to us is satellite or cell providers...both of which are less than desirable.
Anyone have any idea of who to contact or how to go about getting a company to provide? Or do you have any hookup? We are in the city limits and there are probably 60 ish houses currently in our area...
