I have been critical of JGT in the past, but what I have seen lately would indicate you are right. He has been pretty reserved.

My South Carolina guy says it's a done deal to them. Boom will be HCIW and Spurrier retires in 3 years. If Boom is dumb enough to fall for the HCIW trick again, then may God have mercy on his soul.

How reliable is footballscoop?
They have traditionally been a clearinghouse for EVERY single rumor regarding coaching changes. So if ANYONE publishes it ANYWHERE, chances are you'll see it on footballscoop.com. They even publish unsourced emailed rumors.
Of course they don't make any claims that they are accurate, just that they repeat what others are reporting. For an example, scroll through this page for a representative sample.

Other than recruiting I'm just not that impressed with WM as a DC. David Gibbs and Chizik both fielded better defenses under CTT than Muschamp did. I'll be happy if we hire him but it's not going to hurt my feelings if he goes to USCe.

JGT can be a bit dramatic in his writing and isn't necessarily the greatest But he tries to ensure he doesn't jump the gun or report wrong stuff

Muschamp may not come to AU (he is though), but I assure you he isn't the HCiW @ USCe. It doesn't even make sense. What if he blows and Spurrier leaves?

I just don't get why you'd want to be HCIW at USCe. tOSU, UTx, USCw, those type programs, sure I see it. But not USCe.
