Strike one = bowl game
Strike two = Fall camp
Strike three = Saturday night

No fourth strike, he's out.

I understand it but when we are talking about players getting "chances" the rhetoric seems to indicate the second chance as the starting point and not the signing of scholarship papers as a players "first chance."

dude, really?

first INCIDENT led to him being suspended for the bowl game
second INCIDENT was in fall camp and he was suspended during fall practice for a bit
third INCIDENT was saturday and he got booted.

So his 3rd "INCIDENT" was his 3rd strike.

Read my OP in this thread. You can keep your capitalized incidents to yourself.

Thanks.

Yeah, but how many chances did Duke get? That tells the level of pussies we have playing for us.

Didn't something happen during spring ball? No suspension but something happened or at least there was a lot of speculation.

It's not unheard of for some of dukes friends to be upset about his departure. I believe this is what is going on here and the athletes will be better once their mind is right and some time has passed. Auburn is a good place to be.

20 year olds are going to 20 year old. It's understandable. That's where coaches got to coach and probably are.

Boo-fricking-hoo, Stanton. Ricardo Louis has seniority over you and has been out best playmakers out side the numbers and on jet sweeps. He's actually busting his arse.

Yeah, he hasn't done shite.

Either way, if they want to leave, let them. We need players like Corey Grant, Jonathan Wallace, Jake Holland (I said it), Sammie Coates, Nick Marshall, Josh Bynes and so forth. Players that gibe it their all and don't bitch about everything.

Same sources that have Butch Davis leaving Tennessee, Alabama not being a dynasty, and...

You're talking about kids who change their minds frequently. Let's watch the season play out before we talk about how 'sure' these transfers are

Taken from TOS.

We already have 69 underclassmen who are scheduled to be on scholarship next Fall. We'll sign ~25 new players. That totals 94. So approximately 9 underclassmen, at minimum, who are currently on the team won't be here in the Fall.
Maybe 2-3 will go Pro. That still leaves at least 6 guys who will be 86'd.

Here are 5 pretty likely candidates

Montravius
Shon Coleman
Avery Young
Tre Matthews
Carl Lawson

Matthews hasn't been overly impressive. He has been hurt all year though. I would bet Jones go's pro as well.

Carl Lawson

where would he get drafted as an end that was hurt for two seasons and racked up a whopping 24 tackles and 5 sacks? I don't see a team taking him early, maybe not until later in day 2. If he came back and stayed healthy a season then his stock could rise.

Montravius

dude has played well and should really consider it. Not sure where he fits in the NFL though, he is similar in size and speed as Fairley but isn't surrounded by very good players to help him shine.

quote:

Shon Coleman

I'd love for him to make it in the NFL but he isn't a great player right now. If he could make a scout team and stay there a couple seasons, he could grow into a good one.

Tre Matthews

I think Carl Lawson only goes if he is able to come back for 1-2 games & put on a show. If you are Carl and could go in RDs 2-4 it isn't as "dumb" as you'd think

The thing you got to remember is that once you get to RD 3+, there isn't all that much difference in contracts, especially guarantees.

So guys like Avery Young/Tre Matthews? If they don't know if they will make it to RDs 1-2, leaving early gives them an "extra" year in the league and money if they can make it to contract 2.

Fair enough. I think Trey can make it but I'm not sure on Young right now though he is good. Is he top 100 good to make a roster?

I agree with that too. At this point, I am making the assumption he is done for the year though. If he comes back for two games, they will both be against highly rated opponents on a stage so that helps him too.
