He's being a nega again. It's been said that Kelly is very unlikely due to there being little interest on both sides.

Sounds like a few irrelevant random facts with an ambiguous guess or two about candidates and the timing of the hire.

I'm just not that sure on Kelly... FSU has regressed considerably on defense this year. I now they lost a bunch of guys to the league, but they're still loaded with NFL talent.

True, but they had to replace a ton of experience, not just talent.

Rivals hot board. JG Tate

Muschamp (somewhere in the Bahamas)
Odom (Memphis) I like this one
Geoff (Miss State) I hate this one
Clark (UAB) interesting, good coach.

Because this is better than coaching from the booth.

My choices:

1) Will Muschamp
2) DJ Durkin
3) Barry Odom
4) Dave Aranda

If they're cool running a 4-3 I'm fine with it. I just don't want a 3-4.

What am I missing about Muschamp other than he is a big name? Why do people want him so badly? His defensive prowess, is it more perception than reality?

He's had top defenses at every stop. He can recruit, and AU will immediately get a couple 5* studs if he comes to AU. The one thing I've noticed about AU's Ds in the past 6 years (sans 2010), they play with very little passion/intensity. Muschamp will change that.

That's a whole lot of sunshine pumping by the usual suspects.

They will all be in Jeff Lee territory in my view if Boom doesn't happen now.

Muschamp has easily the best resume of any candidates I've seen mentioned. Also, he immediately improves recruiting and passion on the defensive side.

This.

Clark spent YEARS in the high school ranks. Most recently at Prattville (1999-2007) before moving on to college. During that time who were some of the talented recruits to come out of Prattville that you can attribute to his coaching?

We don't have the LB's to run a 4-2-5. That's why I don't like it for us right now.

We don't have the personnel for the 3-4, specifically a true NG. It would take years to build a good 3-4.
