I wouldn't be shocked for a season opener against an SEC foe to give us a lot of trouble, especially with a team like Arkansas who wants this game badly and has never really had much of an issue in JHS.

But I feel like Auburn has the superior coaching staff and the superior players across the board, and I just don't see Auburn losing this game. I'd go 34-20 Auburn if I'm predicting a final.

Apparently Tusk IV sent flowers to the raptor center for Tiger.

Keep in mind Auburn does not have Jake Holland on the field this year. Arky is fricked.

If true, that was a classy thing to do. Appreciated if true.

I love this post from their thread

quote:

I think we have to find an answer at Center and who is going to lead the OL and make adjustment calls on the line before the snap. In my opinion it is our biggest question mark. I think we'll be able to handle their DL better, we'll have better options to throw to, they won't have as good as run game and they lost some really good OL so Marshall won't have as many open lanes to run through, we'll blitz him into a coma. Marshall isn't a great passer and we should harass him into mistakes.

I guess losing one OT = some OL to them. Must be that Arkansas math at work.

Also love how they automatically assume that Tre was our only running back worth a damn

I'm of the opinion that Marshall will wow some people this year with his throwing as well as his running. Not saying he'll be Peyton Manning or anything, but I'm confident he'll be much improved.

What we return in rushing would have ranked 4th last season alone.

I think our offense will be even better this season

much more balanced and much higher scoring...plus the D will be much improved

I think we're going to put up some lopsided scores

I love how they say they will have better options to throw to.

Both Sammie Coates and Duke made preseason All SEC teams for Phil Steele who hates AU. They didn't have a single WR or TE make one of those teams. THere were 4 of them too

I think that is in comparison to what they had to throw to last season.

Problem is they still have the same optoin throwing the ball.

Tre Mason: 317 carries, 1816 yards, 23 TDs, 5.73 yards per carry, TD every 13.8 carries.

All other AU RBs (not including Marshall): 175 carries, 1399 yards, 13 TDs, 7.99 yards per carry, TD every 13.5 carries.

Yeah, our rushing attack will be lousy.

ETA: Just went back and looked at the stat sheet from FayetteNam last year - no wonder they think Tre was our entire attack, we ran a grand total of 55 plays and he got the ball on 32 of them.

rewatching last year's game now

we just blew them off the line of scrimmage and Tre picked a hole

ETA even the announcer talks about how vanilla we were and just running the same play over and over right here

No. No. Gus threw the entire playbook at Arky. It was because of all the respect that bert gets.....you know, because of all of bert's Rose Bowls.

I think its funny how they think they are going to greatly improve despite who they lost, including their DC, but yet Auburn is just going to go backwards. We may not cover the 24 because the backup will be in late but I don't see it being close enough to matter. Especially being at home.

We ran a plain Offense and beat them easily on the road last year. You add a passing game and the offense will be even better and harder for BB and the new DC to figure out than last year's 3 or 4 plays were.

Geez...the final score happened with over 10 minutes still to play and AU had only 20 minutes of possession at the time.

This game was worse than I thought.

i re-watched it and it was an extremely boring game in comparison to most of our games last year. it was just sloppy plays from both sides
