Entering senior year in Mechanical Engineering, almost guaranteed to finish Summa Cum Laude.

Co-op'd with Lockheed Martin and thinks she's going to go to medical school. One of the things she's interested in is the 3D printing of skin grafts and developing that technology.

Has also just recently won SEC Player of the Year and SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year.

quote:

That's Kasey Cooper. She's going to be the best doctor, the best engineering student. She's the best softball player. She just expects that of herself.

That's going to be a challenge going from engineering into medical school but I'm sure if anyone can make that transition she can

Not exceptionally so. Most people I know in med school went to engineering school. Logic-based reasoning skills and rigorous work ethic translate well into being a doctor and, well, anything really.

After all, a doctor is just an diagnostic or integration engineer for the human body, especially as biotech takes off.

I've been a doctor for 2 whole days now (lol) and graduated from AU with a degree in engineering. It can be done! You can major in anything as long as you know the core classes you need for the MCAT. Once you are in medical school you are basically on even playing ground with anyone else as well- It's a whole 'nother ball game.

Well done miss Cooper, would love to have you at UASOM

Biomechanical Engineering would seem like a natural fit. Georgia Tech and UAB both have programs for that.

Good for her!

I don't think she knew she wanted to go that route until recently.
