Was 2004 the last time we actually had a great offense and great defense?

Planning on going to this game...wondering if I should hold up a sign that says "COME BACK AL, ALL IS FORGIVEN".

That said, it's possible to pinpoint the exact moment where our virtually unstoppable offense under Borges suddenly disappeared: early in the 2nd quarter of the '05 IB, a Bama player was tackled into the AU sideline and Al went down, hard. I contend that he sustained a concussion, the after effects of which lasted through the end of the '07 season.

YES...

2010, had a great offense and a decent defense (last time for even a decent defense)

I wonder what our 2010 defense would have looked like if we only had Nick Fairley for the first half of the first game.

On second thought, I don't really want to know.

I have always said the 2004 team was a better team than 2010.
