I have read similar threads on dif boards. I think the answer is unknown simply because NM is the first 2 year QB under GM. He found NM strengths in 2013 but line went to hell in fall camp.

We did not settle on a line until LSU it seems. Receivers lineup minus Duke/Coates has been wtf all year iyam. Biggest issue was not involving CJ, MDavis, CJ, MRay, CJ, and did I say CJ more. Was surprised we did not roll out NM more. Short yardage was a bust with JP.

We actually do more on offense than was seen but ,guessing here, personnel was incapable of running it. All I heard all year was got to execute base better. Just my 2 Cent rant.

Ii agree with others that the problem is on defense. If we had a DL make a sack on the last drive of most of our losses, we probably win. This years DL was atrocious.

You cant discuss offense without discussing player limitations. I thought Gus did a tremendous job on offense this year by working around obviously big deficiencies in a few guys talent. When you have an OL who is gonna get beat on most plays and a QB who fan only read one reciever and then heave it deep or run.... You are gonna look predictable. Its not Gus who says "stare at one guy and then throw it'.

The passing tree will look a whole lot better next year. As long as someone steps up at center, the offense will be the best we have had since 2010.

The SEC title is up to Boom.

I pretty much agree with a lot of points. Corey Grant has stellar speed, but you can see why he is not a RB. I think our play calling has a lot to do with the combination of inconsistent OL blocking & an inconsistent QB. NM did get better at the deep ball to a degree, but he just wasn't that consistent. I still feel JJ will throw passes that receivers can handle better... Both deep & intermittent. As far as getting to be too predictable I don't know. We ran a lot of that stuff last year with TM and it worked with great success. We just don't have the OL to execute like we did last year.

TBH I think the reason we stopped running the jet sweep as much is because of shoddy blocking by the receivers. It seemed in the KSU game that we simply COULD NOT get a damn runner to the edge every time we tried an outside run.

Come to think of it, the jet sweep plays seemed to diminish mostly after the KSU game. I seem remember Grant taking several to the house before that game. But maybe my memory's just hazy.

I think we all understand if we had half a defense we easily win Thursday and easily win the Iron Bowl, but I don't know if you saw the 3 OT play calls.. That was awful
