I don't know what you're talking about. Jovon was refusing to go down and leg drive is the only way Barber gets positive yards. Heck, even Roc has shown some ability to move the pile (although he seems to be regressing a little). He used to run like a maniac, which was terrifying at times. Now he runs timid.

Jovon had the leg drive Saturday, and I know because on a handful of plays, he was dragging the like with him.

He was also able to get to Level 2 of the defense—that is past the defensive line. This is key! We haven't seen Barber do it as consistently as Jovin did it yesterday.

Now my gripe...

Remember the drive where Jovon single handed my got us to around the 5 years line. It was beautiful, but by the time we were threatening to score, the Ole Miss defense knew what was coming...Jovon up the middle. Therefore they crashed two defenders and got Jovon for a two yard loss. Gus, this is where you switch it up for one play!!! On the next play, which would've been 2nd and goal, you can go back to Jovon. We don't have the O line we did in 2013 to simply run at will. It's irritating because I watched that play and knew Ole Miss was going to figure it out...another testament to Gus's absolute stupidity as a coach.

Jovon is clearly the most talented back on the team, he always has been. He has great vision, cutting ability and he runs behind his pads.

He needs to get 25 carries a game for the rest of the season.

In 2013 Nick would have just kept the ball and took a leisurely walk into the end zone. Since White is a near Zero threat to run both the OLD and End can just crash down and kill that play. The outside was wide open, even White might have scored if he had kept the ball.

What I'm not getting is why he's not keeping it more. I know he was hurt Saturday but aside from MSU, he hasn't really kept the ball. But when he did make the reads and keep it his running ability was definitely good enough to make people respect it.

Yep, there have been quite a few options plays this year where a keep would have resulted in decent yardage.

I'll go on to say if Jovon had been starting and healthy from Game 1, he's probably sitting at close to 1100-1200 yards by now.

We will never know, I would be surprised if JR got many meaningful carries this week. He pissed Gus off something fierce I believe. Gus is so gotdamn hard headed he can't let it go. Kind of like his stubborn arse play calling.

There have been many many times under GM, that we ran that same play and scored or drove it near the goal. No problem trying something that was working.
If we try something different, then others like you, will gripe about, 'why didnt they just keep giving the ball to Jovon'. Hindsight coaching always looks better than the coach huh?
