I think this because there is no way he will be allowed to pick the next football coach.

If we don't fire JJ soon, we are going to have Gus for 2018.

I dont know why it matters. JJ didnt hire Gus did he. I thought Mac and Bo came up with Gus. It would make hiring a new guy easier if we had a new AD in place. Most big name coaches will not want to come without knowing who the AD is going to be or without one in place. Most of the lesser candidates wont care cause of the money factor. So in short JJ needs to go and we need to do it now so we can hopefully have his replacement named by the IB to fire Gus arse and hire a new coach in mid December.

Of course JJ hired Gus. They were a committee that did the search but ultimately it is JJ's decision.

So will JJ be gone before Christmas?

We’ve had some broad issues under his command. New President would like the brand to be built up under his leadership.

We have a Valley, Alabama redneck trying to take on the NCAA and FBI. God help us

Jacobs would've been fired years ago in corporate America.

Here's the problem. Quality coaches are going to want to know who the ad is before they sign. If we fire both Gus and JJ at the end of the season, that's going to be a huge red flag. You could fire JJ, but finding his replacement would take months, and that likely means keeping Gus another season. The other option is firing Gus, but the downside of that is that big goofy smiling bastard gets to have his hand in another coaching search.

Jacobs needs to go for the benefit of Auburn Athletics as a whole. He definitely needs to go as soon as possible.

When you get rid of JJ, you have to have someone ready to be named the new AD within a week. It cannot stretch out. If they do not already have someone lined up, then that is bad. Gus will have bought another year.

JJ hiring a new coach will set Auburn back 5 years.

JJ is making a stink. Even after failing miserably, he wants to ride off into the sunset, in his own timetable, on a white horse that Auburn pays for, with a $3M parting gift. Looks like if we want to do what is better for Auburn we are going to have to fire him and either pay him his buyout or find cause. Either way, I don't see him parting with Auburn on good terms.

Who thought a buyout for our AD was a good idea? Name me the school that would hire him away from us.

Not going to happen. JJ is still ad, and no candidate worth a damn is going to interview or even discuss the position as long as it is occupied. You aren't going to fire the guy and hire his replacement to run a multimillion dollar athletic dept in a weeks period of time. You certainly aren't going to let the new guy hire the new head ball coach before he even gets his name on his office door.

One way or another, we're fricked for the foreseeable future.

Somebody fark some incriminating pictures of JJ and a cow in carnal knowledge situation. That way we can fire him for cause... abusing university property.
