I'm not a huge fan of Franklin and don't know if he ever would've figured it out, but it took Nick Marshall a few games to learn how to make the read in the read option. He hasn't had enough time to run it perfectly, IMO.

That's a fair point. I think the bottom line is Franklin hasn't played enough QB period to really be effective. The bigger issues is why did we take him in the first place? My bet is we loved his speed & thought we could build another 2013 type offense around him but he turned the ball over so much in spring the coaches never really got around to trusting him.

I think we are a solid team with White at QB but guy hasn't made it through an SEC season yet. If we land Stidham I expect big things next season. If not we better hope Woody is ready or White finally lasts 12 games. It's so frustrating because we are a healthy consistent QB away from being really good

As well he should. He cant run the read option and is not a good fit.

Saw one play tonight on 3rd and 5 where a hole opened up and you knew if it was Nick Marshall it would have been a 10 yard gain.

Franklin got stopped for 2 yards because he cut right IN to the defense.

I am sorry, but he has been acting like a temperamental bitch.

If his talent was that outstanding, that would still be inexcusable.

And it is not.

That is not true. It took Gus 4 games to figure out we should run it. Do you not recall Gus sending Kyle Frazier out to run The wildcat in game 2 vs Miss St?

I recall Nick Marshall not being to make the read when we played Mississippi State.

A) His obvious displeasure when looking to the sidelines in the last few games

B) this story gets out the night of the IB loss

Jfiii looked more dynamic in the few glimpses we weee able to see than any other qb.

Someone said it best in another thread:
Jfiii might have gotten us to the a championship but also to only winning 5 games. Gus passed up and chose white bc of the high floor even though there is a low ceiling

Uh, yeah we did. Because I remember everyone here bitching about him not reading it right.

We ran the read option then. I don't know how you can't remember that.

Well, bye.

I don't really give a frick.

The guy couldn't start on our abortion of a team, was buried on the depth chart at Florida State, and couldn't even start in Junior College.

Last time I checked, nobody is looking for a waterboy.

If anything he is handling his predicament extremely well. JF3 only had 19 pass attempts this year where he completed ~60% compared to 3rd string JJ with >40 attempts this year

Let's recap how fricking absurd that is given the extremely safe opportunities for our backup QB to get experience

-2 SEC games >30pt leads at half
-3 Cupcakes with margin victory avg >45pts
-Vandy game he started 4 total attempts
-UGA game where SW was crippled
-Alabama game where Chandler cox had almost as many attempts

JF3 should have quit the team already with this ducking bullshite

Tbh he should've been playing the last two games, if not the whole season

JF3 didn't seem like some great option, but we sure as frick didn't give him a fair shake in any game

Was Woody redshirted because he had not fully recovered from an injury? I honestly can't remember. If he was injured, I can understand it. If he was completely healthy, then I don't understand redshirting him in the first place. Surely if he is talented at all, he's better than the stiffs we have on the roster currently. My fear is that he isn't that good. Otherwise, if he was healthy, why would we not play him?
