If we do not win the sec, then we should not be in the playoffs. One cannot be the best team in the country without being the best team in your conference.

What would have to happen for us to win a three-way tie between OM/MSU/us?

If it came down to a three way tie all with one loss of us and the Miss schools, it would be broken by the 7th of 7 tie breakers which is the combined record of cross divisional opponents within the SEC.

We would probably win that as MSU has UK and Vandy and we have USC and UGA. Ole miss won't matter with Vandy and Tennessee.

That said, I am not optomistic about us running the table. Our loss came too early IMO. I think 2/3, is very possible between Miss, UGA, and Bama, but I don't think we pull road wins in all three.

Our three remaining road games will be too much, barring significant improvement moving forward. The three toughest teams left on our schedule are all away from home.

Yep. We are going to have to improve a LOT to win those three road games.

Really sucks because we are a very good team and I think we are better than all 3 on a neutral field, but that is our hand we have to play this year .

I agree. Had we won this game against MSU Id feel a lot better about our chances but going on three more road games against top 15 opponents, just way too hard. We have to start being able to run thru the tackles like last year north and south to be able to have a good chance to win the rest of the regular season.

We must now root for tGumps to knock off Miss St. We need two losses by grinders to go to atl. Remnants of the Tub years when we need lsu to lose so we could go to Atlanta. Only we will not have an inexplicable let down game.

Unless your conferences division is like ## and 0 against non SEC W teams. Then I think the claim is legit.

Yeah for playoff meant to prevent an all sec championship game!

AU can pull it off. Are there areas in need of some improvement? Yes, but the team bounced back last year too. In short, there is still hope. Just got to believe.

If we rematch with State on a neutral field, we would win. Not only because we can be the better team, but also because of the revenge factor.
you're going completely against what statistics say. The team that wins the first game wins the 2nd rematch about 90% of the time. Alabama-LSU in 2011 was pretty much the only exception. The term revenge factor is thrown around way too often here. The better team typically wins no matter the circumstances around their previous matchup.

MSU is the better football team top to bottom

State can definitely lose twice... They've got two huge road games left ... Bama and OM.

They also have @ UK left. I think they are better than UK, but UK has a lot of speed. They get Arky in their house. Arky is improving. They just need to figure out how to win. I give Arky an outside shot. Our goal is on life support, but it's not dead yet.

Basically you have to play the games. I wouldn't have thought Bama would have lost to A&M and JFF but they did. I don't see MSST losing twice though. I just don't. Auburn's best play will likely be to run the table and be sitting there at 11-1 at the end of the year in the hopes there isn't a better option for the committee. Sucks but it's what happens when you can't punch it in from the 4 yard line.

fricking THIS!!!

WTF happened to our red zone offense? It's like every motherfukcer forgot how to fricking block.

EDIT: Someone gather up the chickens and the Oija board. We need to make some sacrifices to get some luck back or something.

Won't matter, we are likely to lose another road game.

I don't see it. We match up better with Ole Miss. We will be more focused and ready for that game. The roles will be reversed from the MSU game, we will be the hunters and Ole Miss will be the ones with the target. Ole Miss doesn't know how to handle that role, and Auburn plays well as the underdog. UGA and Bama are both average teams, we will roll both of them.

I think we win out:

How do we match up better with Ole Miss? They have a better defense than both MSU and KSU. You think we can run on them consistently? We will likely score about 20 points which won't be enough.

I haven't seen a damn thing that makes me think we are going to be more focused from here on out. We looked great against a shitty LSU team and that's about it.

The running game is going to continue to struggle due to losing Kozan, Robinson, Mason, and Prosch. CAP is a serviceable back, but I don't see him as the answer at RB. Maybe Roc will be the guy, but he is going to put the ball on the ground a lot with all the spin moves he does on every play.

It is very very reasonable that there are two 2 loss conference champ . If that is the case Auburn at 11-1 makes it in. You can't argue against a 1 loss team whose loss was a road game against a playoff tean
