Unfortunately, you're wrong wrong wrong. JJ is talented as frick. Unfortunately, he's been ruined by his coaches.

JJ has tons of talent, mentally just can't handled it. Our coaches have nothing to do with his mental prowess. How could our coaches teach him to throw a ball 10 yds behind himself.

This is incredibly late, but I just saw this for the first time due to the "bump". Coaches can absolutely set a mentality for a team. If the coaches are timid and unsteady, that attitude will likely show up on the field. Guys who understand psychology or are just very confident (without being overconfident) can really get the best out of people. A coach that can inspire that "run through a brick wall" mentality can get lesser talent to band together and accomplish their goals while one who cannot establish any sort of solid foundation for the team can take all the talent in the world and make it useless due to everyone pulling in different directions.

So you went to the trouble to find this 5-month-old thread and bump it, but didn't bother to fix the confusing-as-shite subject line?

Son, I am disappoint.

The subject is actually a question, so it's not as bad as you all trying to make it out to be. It's pretty clear actually. It's a prime example of the "begging the question" logical fallacy since Luke clearly thinks it was apparent JJ is not a viable SEC QB. He simply was trying to set that statement up as fact by asking if that assertion is not true.

I agree with everything you said, and would like to add that if a kid really doesn't have what it takes mentally to be a starter in the SEC, it is a head coaches job to figure that out before he starts his first game. Our coaches shouldn't be absolutely floored if he comes out in the first game and totally folds. The head coach has to model pressure and spook the quarterbacks a little bit to see how they act in more of a game like atmosphere.

JJ has plenty of talent as well as physical ability. His problem is that he doesn't like being hit. He's an average threat with his feet because he tip toes through the hole instead of using his size to punish people. He also won't stand in the pocket and deliver strikes. At the first sign of pressure from the outside, he doesn't help his tackles by stepping up, he bails out of the pocket, where 9 times out of 10 the de runs him down for a loss.
