One of the other threads got me to thinking...

How many draft picks are on our roster currently? Make your case for players who will eventually show enough talent to warrant the NFL scouts to stake a pick on them.

QB...Stidham (he looked to throw a pro ball, proper size and quick release)

RB...KP (but I am not 100% certain he'll get picked, probably late rounds, another injury away from UDFA territory)

WR...I will believe it when I see it.

OL...Smith (late rounds, maybe a move to tackle will surprise me and raise his stock)

DL...Davidson and Brown (both could be 1st-3rd type talents if they continue to improve)

LB...Williams (he has some work to do but he has an NFL frame)

DB...Davis (he has work to do, but also has a high ceiling)

Kicker...(I expect Carlson to get taken)

That is 8 and to be honest I am not sold on some of my thoughts. Freshman class has some possibilities Ashley has the frame and the Big Cat might blossom.

Wouldn't surprise me if Carlson goes before most.

RB- Kerryon
WR- NCM, K Davis (pending return), Stove, maybe Slayton
LB- Tre Williams
DB- Matthews (based on measurables and potential)

Those are just to add to your list

None of these have proven anything yet. None are current guys I would select as going to the show. Potential? Maybe K Davis and NCM

LB- Tre Williams
I like him if he gets bigger

No

I hope both these guys prove you right and have the careers at Auburn that they have the potential to.

Love both of them

Kerryon

Been a Tom of talk that Kerryon has some of if not the best hands on the team. He will get drafted based on his potential skill set + athleticism

Won't be a high pick but drafted as long as he can stay healthy and out up decent stats

I think Brown should be close to a lock.

Concern about Davidson is if he is a tweener and his athletic measurements.

Smith is often cited as a top 3-5 OG prospect. Great size, long arms, good grades on run and pass block.

His biggest drawback will be that he's a spread guy but that's a bigger drawback for tackles than guards.

There will also be a premium on OL in 2018 just because 2017 was historically bad

The good thing about Davidson is that he doesn't take plays off. The guy routinely finishes plays at full sprint when he has no chance of making the tackle/running the guy down barring some crazy fumble or cutback. Kid seems to play like Fairley did when Fairley knew it was his last chance to get paid.

I listed him as late rounds...which is where guards go who aren't in that 1/2 range.

I haven't seen anything from KJ that would suggest he would get drafted. Doesn't mean he won't but no way based on what we know. I would say the same about the WR's.

IMO one thing he should be doing is changing his running style. He's too much of a long strider and doesn't get enough speed out of it. As a result I don't think he can cut laterally quite as well as if he kept his feet underneath him.

He, Davidson, would be a great 3-4 DE, IMO. I wouldn't say he's any more of a tweener than Jonathan Allen. Allen simply has some of the best technique and hand usage of any DL in recent memory....hopefully Marlon develops in that way as well.
