How important is it that Kyle Davis comes back?

And comes back right? This isn't about speculating on his problems. How nice would it be to have two legit big time WRs (KD and NCM)? That opens up the running game in the middle of the field. How bad do we need him?

We don't need him if he's going to be a petulant energy sucker. Besides, Hastings is our true #1

We need him and we need him to be "Right" and a team player.

I still have no idea what is going on with him and why he is not here but if it is a personal problem, I hope he gets it fixed and comes back 100%. Don't kid yourself. We need him out there. He is very talented and he with NCM could create some major match up issues for a few years.

Its not going to kill us if he doesnt but it could be yuge if he got back and was 100%

It'd be great to get him back. But, even if he doesnt, I think about the time we all melted when Jovon got kicked off and we were all thought a converted HB named Pettway couldn't possibly fill his shoes.

Now if we lose NCM, let me know.

We don't have to have KD to be really good. I think we have enough weapons in NCM, Slayton and McClain to stretch team deep without him.

However KD is clearly one of our best talents and adding him to this offense would make us even better but only if not distraction. Having both him and NCM to threaten a defense could take our offense to next level

We won't need him, so long as we have someone else who can do this:

Would love to have him on the field.

Hopefully he can make it back as a part of the team.

The further you line up from the ball when it is snapped the less important you are to the success of a team.

We have talented WRs on our team, but do need Davis to add more depth.

Whats the deal with this kid? Is it drugs or grades?

This is mostly true.

A Freak like Julio, Megatron, etc would be the exception.

Two very winnable games that we lost later...

Then why do tackles make way more than guards and centers?

My statement is general regarding position groups. I didn't say a WR has no value, but they aren't as important to the success of an offense as the QB, Oline, RB and a great blocking/pass catching tightend or hback. The are like icy on a cake. They can make the cake look good but they have little bearing on the taste of the cake and a good cake is still good with pretty much any icing.

This might be partially true for skill positions, but I would argue the having a great blind side tackle is more important than having either a great guard or center.

Yea, Pettway was a surprise but we need Davis. We need him back and back 100%

You are right.

I do think the center and QB must be very good to make an offense get started on every play.

Good offensive line play can make an average QB look really great. Nobody can throw if they are getting knocked down all the time.

I recognize left tackle is the premium position in the NFL. For Gus offense, athletic guards are just as important. They pull on many power plays, buck sweeps, etc.
