Made Stir fry and watched a show with the wife. Now listening to The China Show. Pretty good show showing the issues in China like the flood etc.

Too darn hot down here to ride my bike...can't wait until it cools down so I can get my daily miles in.

Been getting out walking some. Not going to the shop this weekend so I’m doing some work from home. Wife just left to go to work. Gonna stay up and work a while tonight.

Get up early and go for a long walk.

Tonight is just a movie and some grunt work.

In spurts. All alone here tonight. Son is in Georgia, wife is at work till 8am. She will come home and sleep all day tomorrow. I can sit here and watch tv or listen to music and do some prep work. Not really a big thing.

Will work on this tomorrow and Sunday while the wife is working then take Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday off. Wife will be off for 7 days so we will take the boat out.

It’s the bad part of owning a business like I do. Always something to do

Spinnerbait blades on holders. I clearcoating them. The holders give me a way to mount them to my drying wheel.

Watching The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Good movie.

Have been watching YouTube clips since I got home from work on my TV. Just cut this on.

I am planning a crazy trip for the wife and I in October. I am going to trailer my boat to Ft Lauderdale , launch it over there and we are going to cross the Atlantic in it to the Bahamas. Stay 4-5 days then cross back.

Just getting all my lists done right now.

It’s pretty typical for August. Slow. I am doing a lot of prep work right now. I’m planning on clearcoating 20,000 spinnerbait blades to get a head start on the fall. Working at a slow pace right now. About done for the day. Started at 6am this morning.

Sounds like pretty tedious work, but a good life altogether. That's pretty dang cool.

That crossing sounds pretty intense. I'm surprised your wife is for that.

Honestly it is a lot of work for what we make off them but it is the step in my process that sells the baits. Lots of baits out there. Not one that does this kind of detail. So I continue to do it because I am hard headed

Yea, it can be smooth or crazy. I will watch my reports for weeks before we pick a day. Then chart a course and go for it. I’m just in a single engine bay boat that is not really made for that crossing but others do it.

As far as my wife, been with her for 40 years. I can talk her into almost anything now.

Depends on the seas. It’s about 60 miles to Bimini. I think it’s probably 3 hours each way in calm seas for my boat. I don’t have auto pilot so I will actually have to steer and stay on course the old fashion way. Just turn the tunes up on the boat and send it. It’s the only way I know. LOL

I have a satellite phone, Garmin handheld personal locator and a EPIRB on my boat. Flares and such are a requirement. My boat will be absolutely loaded for 5 days on the boat and in Bimini. Food, drinks, bait, tackle, clothes, tools, etc. I plan on making a video of the trip.

I think it actually sounds dumbass but Im gonna do it anyway. Fits my personality.

Just need a few more pieces of equipment for my boat and I will be ready. Going to take some extra fuel with me as well. Just need to make sure everything is going to fit in the boat and give us room to move around.

The list of things we are planning on taking is growing.

That would be awesome for sure. I use Spectrum for my cell service. I need to check with them to see if I can get service over there. I dont want to be over there on the boat and not have communication. I pay for a monthy service with my Garmin hand held but I can only text about 50 times a month. Its a nice feature in a emergency situation...

I do however plan on making a video of our trip. I will post it and let yall tear me to shreds.

There are lots of people who do it. Im hoping my friend goes with us and takes his boat. Having a buddy boat on that trip will really give me some security. When I take my boat out in the gulf a long ways, we have done that and Im not as nervous...

It is a lot different than pulling in a cove and going bass fishing

Definitely should do it. My dad has been wanting to do a similar trip forever with our 23 foot sea ray thru the company where there is a group of boats to do it but hasn’t had the chance. Our boat is “technically” large enough to make the trip but is the smallest they would allow which gives us a little bit of hesitation

That trip sounds awesome. I'm envious.

Side note- do you ever watch @marlingbaits on Youtube? Guy builds some one-off baits and he's entertaining to watch.

Think we're headed to the lake today. Someone else's lake house and someone else's boats. Perfect set up.
