Gus says punt, I trust the DC I payed a lot of money to come to AU and defense stops KY.

Yet some of you here claim Gus sucked for making a successful decision.

Have we really become that dumb around here?

Glad we have good communication. Good on Muschamp for holding up his end of the bargain.

I would have gone for it and still think it was the better decision, but we won so to criticize that decision is a bit ridiculous.

It's not like we had been blowing UK off the ball on inside runs in the 2nd half... Going for it there was faaaar from a sure thing.

And our punter has been money this year

I get the decision... although at the time I didn't like it

I do not hate the call. But honestly, at this point I would have more confidence in Barber getting one yard than stopping Kentucky from getting to FG range with more than a minute left.

It is what it is though. And I am glad to see the W.

This is why I agreed with the choice.

Yeah, I hope it didn't even cross Gus' mind to go for it on our side of the 50.

I love barber... but his vision isn't his strong suit... he would've had to run dudes over for that 1/2 yard...

he got it right this time, but you got to have faith in your team to pick up ONE yard....especially with the game on the line. And dont tell me to rely on our defense. Defense gave up 500 yards of offense with most being through the air.

The run before the the last run if he cuts back to the opposing bench he goes for 20.

It was at midfield and our O Line was not getting very good push. He correctly confers with Boom, and made a solid decision regardless of what happened afterward.

Agreed I called for the punt as well but either way it is a really tough call

It was the right decision and I would still say it was the right decision had Kentucky scored to win. They had no timeouts and had to drive 85 yards to win. You HAVE to trust your defense and defensive coordinator there.

A lot of the posters on here are very unbecoming, that's for sure.

I can agree with that. It wasn't a clear cut decision which is why he took the time to confer with Muschamp.

I wasn't impressed with the play of the OL for most of the game.
