As an AU Grad living in ATL, I want GRob! the Falcons have never had much of a connection to Auburn in the past. One or two guys but never much of a pipeline. Other clubs have flowed better there. Saints as example and Tampa Bay etc. Dolphins as well. Carolina has had some AU guys.

I still want Matthews more in Atlanta but I hope Greg has an incredible career...he has as much upside as any OT in the draft ever, but I feel Matthews is a safer pick for Falcons

Man, I want me some Jeremy Hill from LSU for the Falcons. Mason will be long gone, but Hill is a BEAST.

from an ESPN insider article

quote:

Greg Robinson: On tape, he is the most dominant blocker at the point of attack that I’ve ever evaluated. He also is remarkably athletic for his big frame. But even with that as the baseline, he might have exceeded expectations in Indy. Running a sub-5-second 40-yard dash (4.92) at 332 pounds and then doing 32 reps on the bench press with 35-inch arms (very hard to do) are just two examples of his incredible athleticism. He has work to do with his hand placement and in pass protection, but he is an elite talent at left tackle worthy of a top-five -- or even the No. 1 overall -- pick.

I love it when the Falcons go "safe".

Peria Jerry over Clay Matthews.

Sean Weatherspoon over Demariyus Thomas, Dez Bryant, or Rob Gronkowski.

Julio Jones and a shitload of picks over Aldon Smith, JJ Watt, and Robert Quinn.

Stay safe! And keep drafting for need and not BPA!

Could be worse. I'm a Colts fan. Don't get me started on crappy draft picks.

how was the Julio pick safe? Are you high?

Oh, and I'm going through the commitment thread of Greg Robinson from 12/10/10 and there are some classics from LSU fans

happy it's over with that kid. lsu will survive, it's not the end of the world.

how you feel about spencer region is how i feel about robinson. would be fun to see region come to lsu and find out which one turns out to be the better of the two.

He probably just made the biggest mistake of his life

Sorry, kid has never shown me anything. Jordan Allen and Chucky Hunter whipped his arse the entire game last year. The pic above is LSU RS Jordan Allen assraping Trovon Reed after blowing past Robinson. I have a feeling we'll get to see this a lot in the next 4 years.

rumored grade issues and legal trouble, ACT is being investigated, and he made a baby by a white momma in Alabama.

AU is a filthy program. It has zero to offer compared to the elite schools other than a paycheck.

Like it matters, (LOL). He will never step foot on the plains and you real insiders know it.

the only thing you exaggerated was the 10 guys he would be behind...It's actually only 3
^^saying he would be behind 3 players on the depth chart

FWIW, appareantly LSU recruited him to play guard

All of those quotes and they didn't even mention an iPhone? LSU fans are dumb.

This is why I'm leaning to wanting the Falcons to take Matthews. I'd be happy with either though.

You are saying GRob's feet aren't great? That goes against just about everything anyone worth their salt has said

As a Falcons fan I don't want another run of the mill tackle. Honestly, I think Taylor Lewan has as much potential as Matthews

Falcons need someone strong in pass offense and that can come in immediately and be a top OT in the NFL which he will be, we are a passing offense

And by his feet I mean in his pass blocking...his mechanics are not great

I would love a reason to get excited about the Falcons again. Had season tickets for years and couldn't give them away. Chris Miller and Jeff George were more than I could stomach. They have been decent lately and Matt Ryan is good guy. He won't win a Super Bowl, not in Atlanta anyway. These are just my opinions though. I want them to win, it just always seemed like it mattered more to the fans that it ever did the team.

Matthews blocked for JFF, his pass pro is not elite and GRob will be better than him in year one

What would become of Saints/LSU fans if ATL inks Greg Hill and he beats them?
