tOSU was the champ of the next best conference, but lost by 30 to an unranked team. Out.

Subjective.

If we put Auburn in, they would potentially be rematching clemson a 2nd time or UGA third time. Any other options?

See above.

The team with 1 loss that lost @ a top 10 team's house with a notorious home-field advantage during a rivalry game with multiple injuries. Playoff rematches are minimized.

I don't see why this matters. Hell, ESPN seemed to be foaming at the mouth for a three-peat of Clemson-Bama.

I think the playoff got it right this year.

I'm not saying they didn't.

I echo your lamentations but doing anything else makes the regular season almost worthless.

I suppose this is what I was getting at, but never stated. Bama-LSU brought on the current playoff system. Now, that we have a playoff and two SEC teams are in, there will likely be a greater push for a 6 or an 8 team playoff.

Sometimes, it just so happens that, the best two teams are from the same conference (and don't play each other pre-post season) but one has to go through an extra game (and perhaps a third potential contender does as well) and it places extra stress on potentially two teams and not the third. Why, then, are people placing so much weight on a conference championship when another team gets to sit out, rest up, and prepare for their playoff team when everyone else has to take a risk of losing players?

I guess if the committee is going to say that they evaluate conference championships then weight should be placed on that and we should be able to see the formula and parameters for which they designated to be.

tldr: This is a weird drunken melt and I am responsible for any errors.

I don't know what's debatable. You can't just dismiss something as subjective without a counterpoint.

Your entire tirade is subjective. Boom.

Both teams have great head coaches. Maybe in 7 years we can go hire one.

Gus did the same as Kirby in year one. Chizik did more. 2 years does not make a career.

The difference is that Kirby is building a program. Chizik won with Cam Newton and Gus had to rely on two miracle plays to even get in the SEC championship.

And Skirby got a miracle rematch and played in one of the weakest SEC in history.

Give me a fricking break
You think UGAs two greatest rivals firing their coaches mid-season wasn't lucky?
