some of you are seriously underestimating the impact Alabama's success/recruiting is having on Auburn.

we are fortunate that we aren't in the middle of some epic iron bowl streak of theirs. no SEC team has fared as well against them as Auburn during their run (except now ole piss I guess lmao), and we have to deal with them directly.

And your answer for this is?

I don't have one. I am just saying that's what it takes to win consistently on a championship level. See bammer. You either hire a sociopath like $aban (who has a machine behind him that cares nothing about rules) or you hire a nice-guy Chizik type of coach. You either have a coach that processes shitters off the team in order to make room for new ones or you do what AU does and guarantee every recruit a 4 year scholly just so they can sit on the scout team taking up valuable scholarship spots.

Saban isn't a winner because he is smarter or a better coach than someone like Gus. He is winning because he is ruthless and runs an NFL organization (with salaries and all). He calls it the "proce$$" as we all know which is codespeak for "we cheat and you can't do shite about it." He gets the maximum value out of his 85 schollies because of his processing of players off the roster. Other teams are doing it now as well, but he was the originator and the most ruthless about it.

I think Gus can be ruthless but AU will never unleash him. He is bound by the weak arse "nice guy" AU culture. It is what it is.

If you want to be a fan just for the wins -- there are lots of other places you can jump on the bandwagon.

Yeah, give me hell because I'm sort of old school about Auburn, but I would rather be an Auburn man than an Alabama fan with all those MNC and WalMart shirts

Nice melt.
