Papp is going to be fun to watch. I hope he's what we all hoped Tray Blackmon would be.

That’s actually a great comparison from a physical aspect. Both would be considered undersized but ultra athletic. I forgot just how small Blackmon was. He was listed as 6’0 210lbs. Pappoe is listed as 6’1 219lbs.

Tray was a “see ball, get ball” guy and by all accounts Pappoe is not at all. Really excited to see what he can do this year.

Would you expand on that a little? How would you say Owen is different? I definitely feel like I haven't heard much about him, as Jones pointed out, outside of how gifted he is.

They basically told Tray to just go get the guy with the ball. Gap assignment and diagnosing plays wasn’t much of a thing for him. T-Will talked a while back how Pappoe was getting on his nerves because he asks so many questions and watching film.

Damn. Bo on defense, basically. I'm having a hard time tempering my expectations.

“It’s everything,” Malzahn said when asked what has been most impressive about the true freshman. “He’s mature, he’s got a nose for the ball, he can run. The moment doesn’t seem too big for him. You’re out there behind everything from an offensive standpoint, and he’s got a nose for the football and plays physical. He’s in a good spot going into the season.”

AL.com (Tom Green)

This is about the most I’ve seen on him. Coaches say nothing but positive stuff about his level of play and work ethic

I really want Pickens to catch a short slant over the middle...

I try not to get mad at teenagers picking other schools but Pickens really irked me. I would not be upset to see Pappoe lighting him up.

I fully expect the 1st group out to be KJ and Owen. Z will rotate in with OP and Wooten with KJ. Going to be a good bunch.

I was more upset that he asked Pappoe to come over for the announcement without even telling him he was going to flip. OP seemed pissed. I just felt like Kirby was behind that in some way - but anyway best of luck to Pickens except for one game.

Every article that has come out has said Pappoe is a phenom. He’s also one of the strongest in the weight room.

Where are “all” these accounts where Pappoe isn’t going after the ball? I haven’t really seen anything like that.

Kirby is a douchelord, so I have no doubt he had something to do with it.

I don't think you guys really understand what the phrase "see ball, get ball" means.

Tray, while physically very gifted, lacked a lot when it came to being able to learn plays and read offenses. So generally, every single play, his responsibility was "see ball, get ball".

the OP's point is that Pappoe, while being just as physically gifted, is a much better student of the game and capable of a much more complex role at LB. It had nothing to do with his ability or inability to not make plays.

Sam Blum is still around.
Digging into the botched Asa screwup.

Apparently Chip and an assistant coach were the coaches that screwed up.

Mother Martin is still demanding answers even though he just left from his second school and enrolling in his third, Memphis.

Move on woman, math is hard.

Nevermind, Blum tweeted this with the new information of Asa enrolling at Memphis.
