Is Roc more of the O-Mac/Grant role kind of running back or is he someone who could carry the load 25-30 times a game for us?
Raw ability and potential wise Caddy 2.0 with maybe a slightly bit more speed.

He was a fairly low ranked RB out of high school
The only reason for that was he missed his entire Junior year due to injury. Early his Junior year he was a 4* but dropped after the injury. I don't remember the injury. I'm sure jrljr does though. He has a man crush on PB.

I thought he was brought in for a heavier load carrying back with more speed.

He had an ankle injury and I am aware of that. He didn't have huge offers despite a big senior season. I honestly like Barber but I just don't see him transfering

Definitely his high end potential.

I agree with most of what you said, but we needed to go after him. It's possible that young RB's won't work out and Robinson is too talented to turn away

Not with 2 seniors going to the NFL in some form or fashion. Next year lines up perfectly for everyone except Roc. But in a way, Roc is benefiting from this, as he'll have more mileage once he's in the league and making money.

Barber is not going anywhere. CAP is getting his carries because he is a senior and experienced. He is a good RB don't get me wrong, but Barber is a freak and he runs with a purpose. We will see his carries pick up as the season progresses.

CAP is getting his carries because he's a good RB. He graded out really well for yards after contact Saturday. Barber is stuck and will be stuck as long as CAP is healthy.

Gus has never been great at rotating RBs part of that is we go fast and he doesn't want to sub if he has too. There is no way we are gong to be able to get all the RBs touches in games especially when we also have to get guys like Coates, Williams, Ray, and Louis touches as well. I don't see anyone transferring this year though as Grant and Payne will be gone next season so position will be wide open in 2015.

I am betting 2nd half next week will be all Roc and Barber. Was hoping Barber would make one more cut and score on that sweet run he had late. I am curious to see if we let Grant get more carries as he pretty much matched his load from last season

I agree with you. Gus has said he learned a big lesson from Greg Robinson in that when you have a freshman ready to play, you play him. He learned that if they are that good you won't have them past their Jr season anyway. If Barber and Roc were better than CAP, they would be starting now.

That doesn't mean they can't eventually win more playing time or starting time, but right now CAP is the best option. I don't know why some think he isn't, he had a great first game.

2 seniors gone next year makes it wide open. The job is not guaranteed and all of those guys are going to want it.

Auburn now has a reputation for getting RBs insane stats and intros into the Heisman conversation. It's not going to be rocket science keeping them here.

Next year after we lose Sammie and Duke we'll be relying on the run even more. I don't see any reasons why our third string RB won't be getting some meaningful PT. Just my opinion.

Exactly my thoughts as well Rocky. He put the ball on the ground once but I'm sure he heard an ear full and he held it right the rest of the way and played great. Unless he becomes Mario Fannin with the ball, he's gonna get his carries
