Seriously though, DJ mother-truckin Durkin is hands down the best candidate with the most potential and possible availability after Boom. The kid from Wisky is intriguing as well. Anything else would be a short term disappointment.

We agree on the three candidates, would be happy with any of them. Lets hope it comes from that group

1)Boom
2)DJ Durkin or Dave Aranda

2a. Arky DC
2b Randy Shannon
so Robb Smith or his LB coach Shannon.

If you would've told me at the beginning of the year after our W over Arkansas we would want their DC or LB coach hired as our DC I would've laughed. But I see how those 12 straight shutout quarters change people's minds.

Yep I would want Durkin with TRob and then bring in Takeo to coach linebackers

Is Takeo actually in play or is this just speculation? Would love to have his intensity on the staff. That mf'r is scary.

If you mean Durkin, he's an LB coach.

Arky also held bama to 14 points. That Arky D improved drastically over the course of the year.

Autocorrect sucks sometimes and let him focus on the D as a whole. Have TRob coach all the DBs and we have a free coaching spot available. Why not give it to Takeo to help?

it's clear they've gotten better. I'm not arguing against that. They've done more with less but I'm hesitant to take one relatively small sample size

Yes they did and we supposedly have more talent. Anyone wish we would have called up Philon and offered on that signing day. He has turned into one hell of a DT

I'm assuming you believe Garner stays as DL coach?

Not necessarily. I've been the biggest proponent on this board to fire Fountain I wouldn't mind seeing Garner move over to TE/ST.

I'd absolutely love that, but I see it as too good to be true personally. I really hope I'm wrong.

Travis Trickett is one to watch if we actually reassign Fountain. That is if Lashlee sticks around of course.

I didn't even realize Lashlee is considering leaving. Is he being mentioned for any jobs?

Haven't seen any public mention other than speculation, but its a possibility. A school like Clemson would be interested in him, and that would give him the chance to actually run an offense at a legit football program.
