Who you got and why?

FTR, I would love to get boom, but I'm skeptical it happens.

Dave Aranda, Wisconsin defensive coordinator
If Malzahn is simply looking for strong candidates without weighing possible SEC connections, Dave Aranda should get a sniff. The second-year coordinator's defense ranks second nationally in total defense (260.3 yards per game) and fourth nationally in scoring defense (16.8 points) His 3-4 scheme could be an interesting fit at Auburn, where the 4-2-5 simply doesn't appear to be working.

Aranda's defense ranked in the top 20 of the four major statistical categories during his first season in 2013. Auburn could also offer a pay raise to Aranda, who earns $480,000 a year at Wisconsin.

Manny Diaz. La Tech had the worst defense on the planet and he made them a force.

That hire would disappoint me. I just don't trust the resume. Is his defense really that good or is it more playing a mediocre schedule? What else does he have going for him?

Pelini

Ahead of him, if Bill Clark wants out at UAB he would make a hell of a D coordinator.

I'd say so E

If it comes down to it, I like the DJ Durkin idea, especially if T Rob comes too. Already has recruiting connections in the SE, especially Florida, and would probably be here for a few years. If nothing else, he's been learning under boom for a bit.
