We showed improvement but Mississippi State should never be a measuring stick for "improvement" by any Auburn team.

Our playcalling is stale
We haven't seen a QB make real throws
We haven't seen our OL dominate
We haven't seen a RB have "homerun" potential
We haven't seen a TD in a close game since Jax St

On defense
Our front 4 generate no pass rush
Our front 4 is a liability against the run when playing good OL
Our LB look fresh out of a Jet-Puffed Marshmallow bag
Our safeties regularly have busted coverage
Our CBs are freshmen who are prone to mistakes

I don't see any reason why we can't be in a position to challenge Bama at years end. They really haven't looked impressive.

Of course, I also don't know why anyone would have high confidence in us beating UK, Arkansas and staying on the field with A&M.

I firmly believe we CAN be our normal competitive selves by the end of the year, and beat a couple SEC teams on the way there. But our improvement hasn't been confirmed yet, let's see how we look Saturday.

We didn't generate pass rush on purpose for MSU. We wanted to stand up and build a wall to keep Dak from having running lanes. I think we did a pretty good job of it.

We didn't generate pass rush against Jax St or LSU. On clear passing downs, we didn't generate pass rush either.

It all depends on how White plays, if he improves week by week we will have a chance in every game. I think the defense will improve, Muschamp is not going to put up with the same ol lay down shite from last couple of years.

I think our defense will improve every game. I just think some games you'll have to have "seen it" not looked at the box score.

The offense will be the real interesting thing. If Gus is going to tailor the O towards Sean White's skillset, the offense will be like nothing we have seen at Auburn in the past 5 years. Will Gus be able to successfully put Sean in a position to maximize his skillset?

Keep in mind, any changes to the offense necessary to let Sean White be successful will be "midseason changes." Gus not only will have to come up with the scheme but implement it to an entire offense during game weeks

Arkansas is a toss up, a&m loss and Bama loss.

We aren't bowling.

This team has a total lack of "nasty". They dont want to kick anybodys arse and make them bleed. I think that starts with two folks on Offense. QB and center. Reese Dismukes controlled that LOS. QB inspires confidence.

The only one on offense, I have seen any glimmer of nasty is P.Barber. He'll get after it.

On defense, I dont know whats up with that pussy bunch. I expected Montravious Adams to be like Nick Fairley. Fairley was a dominant, nasty player. Monty has that talent but not the killer instinct.

Thanks for the heads up. Now I can reallocate my weekends instead of watching the games.

Seriously though, can we at leas wait until after the bye week to say we do not make it to a bowl game?

Lots of games to be played, we might continue to improve and other teams might regress.

Texas A&M... right now they look eerily similar to how they did last year. I think we know about our chances after the Miss State game.

Arkansas is a better team than their record indicates, but they are on the knifes' edge when it comes to injuries.

Ole Miss will beat us.

I am not so sure about Alabama this year, either. I am really waiting to see how they do this weekend. Last year, they were a completely different team at home v away. If they are like that again this year, they will be in trouble.

We are basing a whole lot off a team that just made a qb switch and a new DC scheme. This team will hopefully be much better by the end of October.

You know we lost to them last year, right?

So is our defense.

Bama is a toss up at best.

Last year's TAMU game saw two game winning drive fumbles, first drive fumble and a blocked FG returned for TD as time expired (10 pt swing right there).

We only lost by 3 despite the most insanely "unlucky" series of turnovers etc

That said, we are worse than last years team and A&M is clearly as good if not better

Tre Williams was playing nasty before he got knocked out of the game. Speaking of which do we have an update on his injury and if he's supposed to miss any games?

Matthews has had some plays where he's been nasty, but he also hasn't really been healthy this year.
Cass has shown glimpses but has yet to be consistent. Getting benched seemed to light a fire in both him and Frost against MSU.

You're right about the offense. We need the OL to play mean like 2013. I think they'll continue to gel as the season goes along. Smith has similar potential to GRob in strength and athleticism and GRob also was underwhelming his first year starting. Hopefully Smith can flip that switch and be the guy for us next year the way Robinson did in 2013
