We should have a 3 game round robin in Montgomery

No way, it MUST be in Birmingham at the Civic Center.

Auburn vs. UAB
Alabama vs. South Alabama

Big fanbases and Alums of each school in the area, would be a sell out each year.

Remember the Arby's Classic? Should be a new and improved one of those...

I support this idea. We need our kids staying in state.

Was that played at Bartow? I went to one ages ago with us & uab. I was impressed with uab's arena and the crowd was huge.

Sho do. Fun times. Packed crowds until the PTB fricked it up.

Coach Pearl was just on the Roundtable...

Said he wanted to get with Anthony Grant and play a neutral site double header in Birmingham against good Out of conference teams from same state.

Hopes to get Michigan/MSU with a return to Auburn Hills, or Oklahoma/Okie St with a return to Ok City...

Would be AWESOME.

I think we should get a game between Auburn and Arkansas. And I dont mean Arkansas basketball team, I think we should put our basketball team up against their football team... in football... I bet our guys win.

1. Late August if the Show Cause appeal is denied. 2. Yes

Q: Because of your NCAA show cause penalty, what can and can't you do in recruiting right now until Aug. 24?

"I can't talk to high school coaches about recruiting. It's a gray area (about talking to coaches on other topics). So what I say is when I've gotten some phone calls and texts from high school coaches for congratulations, I contact them back one time and say we really can't have contact until August because I don't want to have a situation of what were you talking about, what weren't you talking about? ... We have prospects that come to visit campus. I can't visit them. So we're going to ask prospects to make a decision to come to Auburn without ever talking to me until they enroll. Now, they can enroll May 16. They don't have to wait until August. I can start working with them in May if they come. ... They've probably heard enough of me. But I just can't look them in the eye and tell them what plan I have for them. I can communicate that to my assistant coaches and they can communicate that message for me."

Q: How unusual is this recruiting situation for you?

"The hardest thing is this: I have over 1,000 text messages and over 500 phone messages and if it's a high school coach or AAU coach, I can't call them back for fear it's a recruiting call. The worse thing you can do to somebody is to ignore them and that's my biggest challenge. I can't call them back and so they'll feel ignored. ... One of the things we're going to do, and I've done this before, but it's probably important: I want the fans to be part of the solution. I have to start teaching our fans what the plan is. They're all in but they'd like to know how. So on the website here at Auburn I'm going to talk about my scheduling philosophy, about our recruiting philosophy, about what we do in practice, about style of play, about defense. If a fan or potential season-ticket holder wants to learn more about Auburn basketball, go on the website."

Q: Or a recruit could go to that website for you to communicate that way.

"Or a high school coach or a recruit or anybody. It's available. It's open. This is no different than how I've always operated. I've always been accessible. I want to teach the game. I want our fans to understand the game of basketball better than they do now. I want them to understand why we press, what the press looks like, how we operate so they understand it and they'll say wow, that's sloppy or that's helter-skelter or that's not good, fundamental basketball. I want to explain why to them it may look a little ragged because if we can play a little ragged, it can be disruptive. It's not going to be the most disciplined system. I want people to know that."

Q: Do you want Auburn to appeal the show cause and end the recruiting restrictions early?

"When I got my penalty, I had 30 days to appeal. I thought my penalty was too harsh and I said that. But I chose to not appeal because I had a choice between trying to get less or being accountable. ... I've already missed three seasons of basketball. I've missed three recruiting cycles. I am serving my sentence. I didn't know this, but when Auburn chose to hire me, there then was another 30-day window where Auburn has to show cause as to why they hired me and in that there's an opportunity to discuss what the rest of the show cause looks like. And between three years ago and now, have some circumstances changed? Now I have a job; I didn't before. I've served my three years; I hadn't before. So I think we'll be discussing the timing of a June (2011) hearing and an August (2011) penalty and see what that looks like."

Some of that is outdated. For example, CBP said at the Person Presser that AU is putting an appeal together and will be sent to the NCAA shortly.

looks like they have until the end of next week to file the appeal.
