Our offense isn't good for anyone wanting to get drafted. Especially TEs qbs LTs WRs

That's why we've had a QB drafted #1 overall, a LT drafted #2 overall, a WR drafted in the first 4 rounds in consecutive years, and a TE drafted last year.

We've had two LTs with Gus as HC. One was picked 2nd overall. The other was picked in the 3rd round.

To be fair, Sammie Coates admitted that he was under developed at Auburn. I believe his coaches said something about it too. And the QB drafted number 1 was made fun of by Gruden on tv for his simplistic offense in college. I don't know if the TE is under-developed or not, we barely threw him the ball.

Also said he wasn't developed as a WR(looking at you DC)

Why would you be looking at DC? Its a Gus system issue: this is not a good offense for receivers hoping to move onto the next level. DC coaches what Gus wants him to coach. Notice how we couldn't get some hotshot established WR coach to replace DC? We had to get an inexperienced former player who "knows the offense", because an actual WR coach would come in here and laugh at our pass schemes and practices which revolve around blocking.

He didn't throw us under the bus. He said what everyone already knew about our offense and DC as a receivers coach

DC didn't cause him to be a royal frickup of epic proportions at so many key moments. He's trying to blame his drops on the offense and bad coaching. frick him.

"That was not what I meant," Louis told AL.com. "What I meant to say (was) I wasn't a developed receiver. In a lot of people's eyes I had some issues with dropped passes or that some people think I can't read more routes, for a receiver who can't do those things you're not a complete receiver, you're not developed.

"Auburn has great coaches. I have the utmost respect for coach (Gus) Malzahn, (offensive coordinator Rhett) Lashlee, (former wide receivers coach Dameyune) Craig. They brought me a long way as far as being a football player and I became a great receiver. Then there's also some (things) I needed to work on that I felt like that made me not a complete receiver, not a very developed receiver and I felt like wherever I go, I'm going to get the opportunity to get better and better."

Louis, who converted to wide receiver from being a quarterback in high school, cited improved receiving statistics over the course of his college career as a sign not only of his hard work but the development he got from the coaching staff. He led Auburn with 46 receptions for 716 yards and three touchdowns and added 29 carries for 158 yards and a score last season, topping the total receiving yards he had during the first three years of his career.

"My role when I was at Auburn the first couple of years, I wasn't the primary receiver but my last season at Auburn I became the primary receiver so that required me to do a lot more things that I wasn't doing before and I got better and better but I was still working on it," Louis said. "At Auburn I wasn't a complete receiver, I wasn't a developed receiver. Coach Craig helped me get to the point where I am now. I got drafted in the fourth round, a lot of people didn't expect for me to get drafted in the fourth round but hey, a lot of teams see what other teams don't and that's just what it is."

Louis wished to apologize to anyone who took his initial remarks the wrong way and said he in no way meant to insult his school.

student22 said that Robinson's struggles adjusting to the NFL is the reason Shon slid to the 3rd round and Avey went undrafted.

Marcello tweeted that Duke WIlliams still hasn't been picked up.

Pretty crazy that Louis went so early while Duke isn't even picked up, given expectations to start the season

I've tried not to gloat too much over the Ole Miss disaster. Because if we're all being honest, it about THE most Auburn situation I've ever seen

Either you catch the ball or you don't and he didn't. As a receiver, that falls on you to make catches when you need to and didn't. Don't blame dropped passes and lack of focus on the coaches. If he talks shite about simple and ineffective route running and our coaches not doing anything to help him with those things, I am behind him on that though.

As far as the Coleman and Young falling in the draft due to Robinson, that is just foolish. Robinson struggled with pass protection at Auburn so it shouldn't have been tough to see on film that he would need a good bit of work, he is a motor grader and aggressive run blocker. Coleman would be better off at right tackle for a couple years but he is a bit more balanced than Robinson was, just not as good at run blocking. Young just left too early plain and simple. He has his reasons for doing so but another year would have done him very well, it will be tough to make a roster and do what he needs to do as a UDFA and unpolished tackle.

If I had to guess, Duke is weighing his options. There's no way he doesn't have an offer

I can easily see how an unathletic, unrefined basket case who was booted from his team didn't have a lot of interest

Honest question, would you guys rather go to a mediocre team in the late rounds or go undrafted and pick a team to go to?

I mean as fun is it would be to play on a winning team, you're probably in a much better position financially and playing time-wise if you get drafted by a mediocre team as opposed to signing as a free agent. I'd go with being drafted by mediocre team late rounds.
